A few observations about the Freedom Convoy truckers:
When is a minority of a minority enfranchised to demand the resignation of a sitting head of state in return for ending a siege? This feels somewhat like Ammon Bundy and the Three Percenters in the U.S.
Didn''t the Timber Unity truckers demand Kate Brown''s resignation a couple of years ago in Salem?
Ottawa person-on-the-street interviewees had a hard time expanding on the rights/freedoms that had been so egregiously abridged. Perhaps that''s because the comfortable seldom have cause to think about them?
The Canadian military (unlike its U.S. counterpart) is mustering out active-duty service members who participated in this uprising. Also unlike the U.S., law enforcement was savvy enough not to turn protestors into examples of police abuse.
Not surprisingly, the link attached to this post takes you to a website that also features the fringy video [Nuremberg 2, Covid-19 as a crime against humanity] that D. Gainer posted on BBQ a few days ago. I''m also not surprised that the truckers'' cause has been embraced by Fox News and a dozen of the most unctuous and craven U.S. Senators.
Careful what you wish for.

Corner of Rector and Highway 101 in downtown Wheeler (across from where you turn to go to the boat ramp or board the train) – TUESDAY – 2/15/2022 – from at least 1-5 pm – in front of the building where you find Pelican & Piper – and “Heart of Cart''m”. Jeff (cell phone for text: 208-424-0042, jwmerc@gmail.com or via message to the JW Merc Facebook page) will be there with the entire current line-up of raw honeys from $5 to $85 – light to dark – crystallized and those recently poured (yes – I will have the new raw Oregon Raspberry, raw Clover-Meadowfoam and raw Oregon Wildflower quarts – these are $25 each). $23 raw honey quarts include Poison Oak, Carrot, Blueberry and Mixed Flower (these are AT LEAST partially crystallized). There are TWO half-gallons of the new raw Oregon Wild Blackberry left – $50 each – and there is one amazing full gallon of mostly crystallized Oregon Blackberry available – $85. Canadian Freedom Convoy 2022: A Call to Action for Police and Veterans

Former Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Vincent Gircys, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) veteran Eddie Cornell and recently retired CAF Naval Officer Andrew MacGillivray put out a call to action to other officers and veterans to support #freedomconvoy2022 to restore lost rights and freedoms.

WANTED: SMALL TRAVEL TRAILER/RV FOR SHORT RENTAL I will be replacing my sister''s manufactured home with a newer, smaller one in May, so we are hoping to find someone who has a vacation trailer/small rv, that is not being used and could make someone some income for a couple months. The site is right off hwy 26, flat, easy access, no wear and tear, next to a barn with power and water. She would need it for May and June. Very responsible lady!

From the Heart of Cartm to the Hearts of Volunteers

Over the last few weeks, we have seen the most generous of human beings walk through the doors of our heart space in Wheeler to vacuum up muddy water, repair holes, paint walls, organize tools, arrange discarded furniture into cozy vignettes, plant flowers, greet customers, hang photos and light candles.
I am humbled by the generosity of our community volunteers who show me over and over what it means to reimagine waste and love unconditionally. Our volunteers put love into the discards, the junk, the tangled messes, the dirty and the broken and turn those items into treasure.
Heart of Cartm is full to the brim, overflowing with the compassion and creativity of this community and we want to share this with as many of you as absolutely possible. On Monday from Noon – 1pm, Heart of Cartm is serving heart-y soup for the soul from Heidi at The Roost in Wheeler. The store is open Noon-6pm. Come on in to craft a little valentine (like those in the photo!), find a little treasure or sign up to join our team of volunteer hearts.

I am soon moving my Tiny Home and my trailer brakes need inspection and fixed if needed. Can anyone help me, or point me to someone who can. I will pay for your traveling to Netarts and a fair wage for your time.
If the tiny house mover arrives and the brakes aren''t working properly, if could create great problems for me financially.
