Spring Forward

Submitted By: pattyrinehart@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Friends of North County Recreation District, true to its mission, is supporting NCRD scholarships, programs and projects with its Spring distribution of funds. With a focus toward benefiting all in the North County Community, as well as visitors and tourists, Friends is funding an upgrade for the Performing Arts Center’s sound system, lighting and security at Rex Champ Field, and equipment for the new Youth Sports Program. Equipment needs are for the volleyball and basketball programs currently being offered; more sports activities are being planned.

Exciting new classes in the Fitness Center are also supported with Friends’ funding of one spinner bike for Spinning Classes and for instructor certification. The A/V equipment provided for Adult Activities last fall is enhanced by Friends’ funding for a camera and microphone upgrade. A computer, printer, and wifi access for community use will be available in the mezzanine above the Welcome Center Lobby, thanks to Friends’ support.

At the heart of Friends’ funding are scholarships to offset fees for Youth, Aquatics and Fitness Department programs. Children and families are always top priority. Generous donations from Friends’ members and the community, along with fundraising proceeds, have made it possible for Friends to spring forward with widely branching support for our flourishing recreation district.

Join us in our effort to promote and support North County Recreation District by becoming a member of Friends of NCRD. If you’d like to make a donation toward one or more spinner bikes for the new Spinning Classes, your contribution will help acquire enough bikes to get the program off to a good start.

You may donate online: friendsofncrd.org home page; send your check to Friends of NCRD, PO Box 511, Nehalem, OR 97131; or take your contribution to the Welcome Center at NCRD. Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax deductible.

in2Egress Casting Call – 20 something couple

Submitted By: nehalembayexperience@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello. My name is Drew Reid and I am creating a short film called in2Egress this June. Original script/local cast-crew/set around the Nehalem Bay.
PLOT= After 17 years in a state psychiatric facility, Henry Tohl is returning to his home town. Local apprehension is surpassed only by his family’s dread of the truth Henry is bringing with him.
Speaking of Henry, I have found someone far beyond my expectations to become Henry. Now I’m sure we can create something very interesting.
Next I’m looking for a young (over 20-under 30 in appearance) couple to play the parts of young folks struggling to accept the fact that they have passed. A couple because they are fighting and only a real couple could give me those looks.
TIME= Rehearsal is about 2 hours. Filming is 4-6 hours in one day (in theory). No acting background needed, just a desire to shine.
If this is something you both would like to try, contact me at nehalembayexperience@gmail.com
This is a link to the Casting Call Trailer = https://youtu.be/J932adC-0L4
Cheers, Drew.

Rent or Lease – ALL north coast is OK

Submitted By: jwmerc@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
These three characters are looking for a new rental arrangement – could be anywhere from Bay City north to Astoria. The most recent address for them is not being put on the market so…time to move – in the middle of this most challenging environment.
HG is a health-care professional – working mostly from home (tele-health) so solid/reliable internet connection (as much as possible that is) will be key.
Cat is five – and the handsome redheaded boy is nine.
Please send ideas here and I will forward them on – start date should ideally be from May 1-May 15th.
Thanks in advance for any/all ideas! JW

Tired of being responsible for solving other people’s problems?

Submitted By: meredith@meredithlrichardson.com – Click to email about this post
Hey, BBQ!
I’m looking for the people out there who are the problem solvers, the ones who are there for others when they have a problem, who others come to when they are in conflict, and who spend too much time trying to solve other people’s conflict.
I have a couple of classes coming up at Tillamook Bay Community College that will teach you how to empower others to solve their own conflict. You can still help, but you won’t feel so responsible for the outcome. Can you feel yourself already relaxing as you envision offloading some of that responsibility?
When I was an attorney, people came to me to solve their problems. Being an attorney was incredibly stressful for me because I took on responsibility for other people’s problems. I had to figure out how to get the judge to see things from my client’s perspective and rule in my client’s favor, giving my client what my client wanted and needed. The other side was working just as hard to get the judge to rule against us, and it was a win-lose situation, so there was a lot of pressure on me, and I put even more pressure on myself because I wanted to do well for my client.
Maybe you can relate.
Maybe you aren’t an attorney, but people come to you and expect you to solve their problems – in the workplace, in your home, in volunteer organizations – and while you like helping people, you would like to teach people how to solve their own problems, and have them take responsibility for it.
I have two classes coming up at Tillamook Bay Community College that can help you to do just that.
On Friday, April 8, come join me for a one-day, experiential class where you’ll learn transformative mediation techniques. You’ll leave able to help people solve their own problems, so that they are less reliant on you going forward. Imagine how good it will feel to let go of that responsibility and stress!
To register, email me at meredith@meredithlrichardson.com and tell me to sign you up!
And if you want to do a deep dive into transformative mediation, I have just the class for you!
Over the course of six Fridays, April 29 through June 3, I will teach you how to mediate transformatively. You will be able to sit in the middle of other people’s conflict with them and help them to resolve their own conflict. You don’t have to be the one to solve their problems. You can let that responsibility go.
To register, email me at meredith@meredithlrichardson.com and tell me to sign you up!
I have helped over 1,500 people to reach agreement using transformative mediation. I have also taught attorneys, mediators, guardians ad litem, human resource professionals, upcoming leaders, social workers, and more how to mediate transformatively.
I would love to teach you as well!
So, email me at meredith@meredithlrichardson.com and tell me to sign you up!
Meredith

He won the 2010 Blues Music Award (BMA) for Soul Blues Artist Of The Year and went on to win the award again in 2012 and 2013. In 2013 Salgado also won the coveted Blues Music Award for B.B. King Entertainer Of The Year—the highest honor the blues world has to offer.

Need a stump removed

Submitted By: wvudano@yahoo.com – Click to email about this post
We have a laurel stump in our backyard that we would like removed – ground, pulled out, however we can get it out. It is about 15 inches or so in diameter with a lot of roots. Tried digging it out myself, but is too big.

If you can provide that service or can give a recommendation for someone who can, please either email me at wvudano@yahoo.com or call 503-459-2302.

Thanks,

Dan

Vaccinated handyman for small project.

Submitted By: audene.artist@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
We need a fully vaccinated handyman/worker to assist with a small project. This involves lifting and replacing a kitchen sink with my husband. Everything will be detached so no plumbing is involved. Our guess is needing someone for just an hour. A quick $20 for someone. My health no longer allows me to lift things or I would assist. There may be other projects in the future too. We are in Nehalem.

Thank you! Neil and Audene 503-368-6901
