No experience needed! Learn the basics of watercolor and create a step by step colorful sea turtle and background. Participants will learn how to use the supplies and try a few easy techniques, while learning simple brush strokes. You will get instruction on the different ways to use your paintbrush, color mixing, and be able to try some magical things that watercolor is capable of! Cheryl will demonstrate and let you practice each one, wet on wet, wet on dry and many others.
I will offer gentle, encouraging tips and tricks as we go along. Just show up with curiosity and openness to having some fun putting paint onto paper and seeing why watercolor is so magical.
All supplies will be provided to use but if you want to bring your own brushes and paints, feel free. You will have a finished painting to take home with you. Ages 8+ encouraged to attend with your adult. You’re never too old to discover the magic of watercolor!
Our family has had a home in Manzanita since the 1970’s. I have enjoyed watercolor painting at the beach, it’s really one of my most creative and inspirational places to be. Teaching classes here has connected me to the nicest people and great friendships.

Explore the power of mindfulness and hands-on creativity in this Meditative Print Workshop for Teens! Learn how guided visualization meditation can spark creative ideas, and explore abstract drawing to translate these ideas onto paper. We will introduce the art of Tetrapak printing—a sustainable printmaking technique using upcycled materials—teaching participants how to turn their drawings into unique prints by experimenting with shapes, textures, and ink. This workshop encourages creative exploration through mindfulness, and cultivates an interest in both new & sustainable and traditional print-making techniques. No prior experience is needed!
Each participant will make their own original art prints to take home and all supplies and materials are included!
Please direct any questions about this workshop or registration to adria@hoffmanarts.org

I would like to invite everyone to a special virtual raffle fundraiser that starts tomorrow and goes to the 27th. Proceeds go towards the operational cost of a podcast that raises awareness around sexual exploitation and pushes for social change and stronger social security, especially for vulnerable women. You can see all items here: redlightexpose.betterworld.org
In many big cities across the globe, but even and especially here in the US, more young women are turning to the sex industry as an answer to the cost of living and housing crisis. Our podcast “Red Light Expose” in addition to many other issues, aims to solve the underlying problems that put people, overwhelmingly women, into desperate positions, and a society that blindly allows it. Many of the hosts are longtime survivors of the sex industry themselves and speak from experience. We also draw on the expertise of various academics and researchers from around the globe.
If you’re interested in listening to the podcast, it will be a new monthly show on XRAY FM 91.7 Nehalem every 1st Friday at 1 PM, starting July.
Attached also shares about a livestream event tomorrow that will kick off the raffle. Join us if you’d like!
Thank you.

The collectible posters cost $30 each. Proceeds from the sale help fund official parade buttons and prizes, supplies, support services, bagpipers, and other expenses.
Dillon also will happily personalize posters already purchased at the Manzanita Visitor Center. Cash or check only at the market. A credit card can be used through the “Donate” button on the parade website – manzanitaparade.com
The Manzanita Visitors Center is open Thursdays through Mondays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The 4th of July parade steps off at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 4th from Laneda Ave. and Division Street.

Maybe
Maybe you were on the street,
Raised placard in your arms,
Maybe your feet were on the ground,
Your longing lifted with clear intention,
Maybe you had had enough,
Like others, you had begun to ask
How you could offer shelter, perhaps
an attic, out building, or basement,
Maybe you had begun to remember
The life-giving power in non-violent action.
Witness to the flowering of hope,
You are alive, free, and not alone.
