Rent or Lease – ALL north coast is OK

Submitted By: jwmerc@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
These three characters are looking for a new rental arrangement – could be anywhere from Bay City north to Astoria. The most recent address for them is not being put on the market so…time to move – in the middle of this most challenging environment.
HG is a health-care professional – working mostly from home (tele-health) so solid/reliable internet connection (as much as possible that is) will be key.
Cat is five – and the handsome redheaded boy is nine.
Please send ideas here and I will forward them on – start date should ideally be from May 1-May 15th.
Thanks in advance for any/all ideas! JW

Need a stump removed

Submitted By: wvudano@yahoo.com – Click to email about this post
We have a laurel stump in our backyard that we would like removed – ground, pulled out, however we can get it out. It is about 15 inches or so in diameter with a lot of roots. Tried digging it out myself, but is too big.

If you can provide that service or can give a recommendation for someone who can, please either email me at wvudano@yahoo.com or call 503-459-2302.

Thanks,

Dan

Vaccinated handyman for small project.

Submitted By: audene.artist@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
We need a fully vaccinated handyman/worker to assist with a small project. This involves lifting and replacing a kitchen sink with my husband. Everything will be detached so no plumbing is involved. Our guess is needing someone for just an hour. A quick $20 for someone. My health no longer allows me to lift things or I would assist. There may be other projects in the future too. We are in Nehalem.

Thank you! Neil and Audene 503-368-6901

Participants for The Artist’s Way

Submitted By: artlight7@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
The Artist’s Way Course on Zoom, beginning Wednesday, April 13, 2022
Julia Cameron’s landmark book, “The Artist’s Way,” was first published in 1992. Our workshop will use her 2002 “10th Anniversary Edition” as our text.
This course is open to women only. Full enrollment will include 16 women. 13 women are already enrolled. We have spaces open for 3 additional women. Enrollment closes Monday, April 4, 2022 at 5 pm PT.
I have offered “The Artist’s Way” many times but not since 2007. I was invited to offer the course at Rising Hearts in Nehalem just as Covid hit our communities. Several women were interested at that time. Perhaps you were one of them. If you would like one of these spaces, please let me know.
I feel it’s time now to offer “The Artist’s Way” on Zoom. Zoom’s breakout rooms will allow participants to meet in small groups to process some of the exercises together. Each participant will have a partner to check in with privately on a weekly basis, to talk about their progress with “Artist’s Dates” and “Morning Pages.”
All who would like to will have the opportunity to participate in a 20-minute silent meditation session on Zoom in the 30 minutes prior to each session of The Artist’s Way — a good way to begin keeping a daily meditation practice, if you wish.
I will incorporate lots of materials that are not included in Cameron’s book, materials that reflect scientific developments that post-date publication of The Artist’s Way. I’ll do my best to update the course to be as relevant as possible to today’s world. Every participant will have opportunities to share resources they have found helpful using The Chat function on Zoom at the beginning and end of each session.
I find that this course helps me be accountable to myself as a spiritual being having a human experience — and as an artist. It asks each of us to up our game, do our best, transcend obstacles. Everything it asks of us is best done in a group — not alone. And, during Covid, when our needs have become even more apparent, the need for opportunities to congregate in solidarity is paramount.
I hope you will consider joining me! — Dana Anderson

REVIEWS on Vitamix type appliance

Submitted By: tevisdiii@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I am seeking the opinions of folks that LOVE their Vitamix-type tool. My Vitamix is on the verge of breaking. I mostly use it like a heavy duty blender and need it’s strength to blend very thick smoothies, so it needs to be heavy duty like a Vitamix.
As a double request if anyone wants to sell me something like this, that is in excellent shape, I would go that route before buying something new.

Thanks in advance for any ideas! Jude

ISO Small Office Rental for Remote Work

Submitted By: mica.f.russo@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello!

I just recently moved to Manzanita from Portland and I’m happy to be here!

I’m looking to rent a small office or desk space where I can work remotely during the business week.

Currently, I work full-time for Nike as a Color Designer for Running Footwear. During the last two years of the pandemic, I have worked remotely. I occasionally make a day trip to the Nike campus in Beaverton to work with my teammates.

The nearest co-working space I could find online is located in Astoria. I’d love to find something a little closer to the community where I’ll be living (within 40 minutes of Manzanita).

I’m open to creative ideas for workspace options — a local business or office with an extra room; a tiny house, shed, yurt, or RV; an office in someone’s home while they’re out of town, etc. If applicable, I’m happy to caretake (ie. plants and pets) while renting the space.

Ideally, I’m searching for a workspace that has:
— privacy (preferably a door to close while I’m on Zoom calls)
— a desk and chair (or space for me to bring my own desk and chair)
— reliable access to WiFi
— space for a small filing cabinet to leave materials overnight (will stored beneath my desk)

I’m hoping to rent the workspace 4-5 days a week from 9 AM to 4 PM. That said, my schedule is flexible depending on the availability of the space.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or recommendations you may have.

Thanks!
Mica Russo

Wanted labeled plants you have outgrown or have outgrown you

Submitted By: barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Are you starting to dig in your garden?
Do you have plants you have outgrown?
Do you have plants that have outgrown their space?

The Nehalem Bay Garden Club can use them for our annual plant sale on May 7th. (And you can get new plants here for that space you have made at prices below commercial nurseries!)

If you do and you are able to dig and transport them, please label them and bring them on Saturday, March 12 till 1:00pm to 43080 N Fork Rd (where N Fork Rd meets Hwy 53 and the site of our May sale.) There will be a tarp in the yard where you can put them. We will pot them up so you can bring them in plastic bags or other temporary shelter. You can also bring any pots you no longer want.

If you are not able to dig and/or transplant, please send an email to barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net and we will figure out how to get your babies to give them a new home.

Thank you!!

Proceeds from the Garden Club sale are given back to the community. In past years we have supported Alder Creek Farm, Hoffman Gardens, Food Roots, North County Food Bank, Nehalem Grade School garden, and Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church food pantry among others.

The Nehalem Bay Garden Club normally meets on the 4th Tuesday at 1:30 and we hope to start meeting again in person soon. Our main event is the annual plant and we have fun learning, getting our hands dirty, going on field trips (Covid permitting) and sharing stories, knowledge and food together all throughout the year. If you would like to join us please send an email to barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net
