I am offering my healing work in Manzanita this Fall and I wanted to invite you to check out my website if you’ve been looking for guidance and support during these potent times. I am a Holistic Wellness Mentor, an experienced practitioner of Daoist Medicine, and my approach to healing is centered in the art of living.
I am honored to have been asked by Danielle Melanson, LAc, to step in while she moves in the direction of her next adventure. I will share space with Chiropractor Dr. Heidi Olejnik, and massage therapist Elisha Rose near the beach at the end of Laneda. I will be there for next 3 months.
If this calls to you, please be in touch. I have openings for private sessions on the following days:
August 22-24
September 5-7
September 19-21
October 3-5
October 17-19

Artists’ statement: ALXSw –
“Studying martial arts introduced me to Shodo and Zen traditional works. I’ve been deeply impacted by studying the use of empty space in the works of Zen Reishis. Additionally, the placement of an artist’s chops (the red seals) are the final balancer of a composition. Like most 2D arts the first works of a student of Shodo (the art of the brush) are precise, structured, predictable as identifiable kanji or phrases, as with realism in western painting; the orange in a bowl is predictably recognizable. There is no strain or inquiry required to extract any particular meaning.”
Artists’ statement” George Wilson –
“I paint watercolors, soaking the paper, sometimes on both sides and applying washes of color and tone wet on wet to create atmosphere and form. As the paper dries I add detail and structure using sketchbook and memory as source material. I like to paint the shapes of birds and sea stacks; the vertical staccato of old river pilings, the wake of ducks on the river.”
Artists’ statement: Kopali Serna –
“This series explores the story of a hearth that lay frozen for generations but has undergone a time of thawing and regeneration. I conceptualized the series from my perspective as a self-taught indigenous artist, at one point separated from my traditions through the impact of colonization, but now intuitively and joyfully rejoined.”
The gallery is free and open to the public.

Have you noticed that meditation teachers seem to be popping up all over the place? Perhaps you’ve heard about Mindfulness, but don’t know what it’s all about. This is your opportunity to explore this practice which might just change your life!
Are you one of those people who think you “can’t meditate”, or are afraid to try? You can learn this simple practice which helps us to learn to live more skillfully, see ourselves more clearly, and be more at ease with the constant changes of life. I promise, there’s no levitation required!
Everyone 15 years old or older is welcome to join us for a five week class on Monday evenings beginning Sept. 12th at 5:00 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church in Nehalem. I am a long time Nehalem resident who began this this practice in the late 1980’s, having had the good fortune to study and practice with many renowned teachers over the years. I’ve already taught classes here, and am now excited to share it with more of you. I’m currently completing a two year international training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach and other luminaries in the field.
I’m sincerely hoping you will join us.
Warmly,
Lark Miller

If you are suffering from the summer’s long days of working and playing- our visiting massage therapist this week may be your ticket to a more mobile and pain free August.
Alexi Hedlund has 13 years of massage experience with a specific focus on pain relief through a technique called Ortho-Bionomy.
When the body is stressed and out of balance, it will adapt as well as it can, but in the process it can create coping patterns of even greater stress and dysfunction.
Ortho-Bionomy is an elegant technique that works with the nervous system to cue your body’s self-corrective reflexes and allow tension patterns which are creating pain to relax, reset and reorganize.
Because the principles of Ortho-Bionomy work with positions of ease rather than force, most people find a session to be comfortable and relaxing while offering massive benefits.
It’s especially useful for dealing with mysterious symptoms or conditions that elude other successful treatment.
Whether your looking for relief from specific injury or a way to ease chronic pain and stress, Ortho-Bionomy can be beneficial.
Ortho-Bionomy works effectively with:
Back, neck and knee issues
Acute and chronic pain
Headaches
Shoulder dysfunction
Limited Range of Movement
Stress
Muscle tension
Sports injuries
Sprains and strains
Common benefits of Ortho-Bionomy:

Supports healing from surgery
Compliments physical therapy
