I am Mary Leverette and I am running Wheeler City Council.
It is unfortunate that unfounded rumor has found its way into this election. I would like to make a few points clear.
I am not, nor have I ever been, employed by, or a representative of, the Ulbricht family who own Botts Marsh, LLC.
I have no vested interest, nor do I stand to gain if this project moves forward or disappears.
I have met with Mr. Ulbricht on two occasions when I was seeking information on his plans for the development. I did this as an concerned citizen who wanted to separate fact from fiction.
I value open and honest communication and firmly believe that if sitting Council members would have sought out a solution that respects the interest of ALL Wheeler stakeholders, the city would not be facing a lawsuit now. As a City Councilor I will seek to hear from all of our citizens, business owners, land owners, and visitors to listen and learn. The best, most productive solutions will be found through consensus.
