Hello Community,

My name is Katie Crosman. Some of you may know me as the co-owner of Yoga Roots Studio in Manzanita. Currently, I am a candidate for an MS in Yoga therapy from MUIH and as part of my clinic requirements, I will be leading a group yoga therapy workshop for anxiety. The workshop is a four-session series and includes a preliminary comprehensive initial intake that involves musculoskeletal and breath assessments, educational handouts, recordings of meditation practices, and one on one check ins. The class will be limited to 4 participants and participants will be able to attend from the comfort of their own homes via zoom. All levels and experiences are welcome. Classes will be held on Saturdays, 10:00 am -11:30 am February 18th, March 4th, March 11th, and March 18th. If interested, please message me at kcrosman@muih.edu. Set in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn, New York in September 1937 during The Great Depression, this coming-of-age comedy focuses on Eugene Morris Jerome, a Polish-Jewish American teenager who experiences puberty, sexual awakening, and a search for identity as he tries to deal with his family, including his older brother Stanley, his parents Kate and Jack, Kate’s sister Blanche, and her two daughters, Nora and Laurie, who come to live there after their father’s death.

The new living arrangement is taking its toll on Jack’s health, as he has to work two stressful jobs to support the extended family.

Meanwhile, Aunt Blanche is interested in dating their neighbor, who has a drinking problem, despite Kate’s objections; Stanley faces problems with his own job when he stands up to his somewhat tyrannical boss, and later resorts to some shady means to support the family’s struggle; cousin Nora, whom Eugene has a crush on, is eager to be a paid dancer in a Broadway musical, even though the family’s circumstances might not allow it, much to her dismay; and cousin Laurie, who has heart problems and requires frequent doctor visits, is a source of annoyance for Eugene.

All the while the family has other relatives living in Poland, which is under invasion, and they are worried about what might happen if they remain there, or how they’ll be able to put them up if they escape and come to Brooklyn.

The Health Center will open at 1:30 pm; the Pharmacy will open at 2 pm (after its normal lunchtime closure).

In 2015 Highschool student Hayley Rollins passed House Bill 3042 to create an art holiday for the state of Oregon. On April 14th, the holiday is called Honorary Artists of Oregon Day, or Oregon art day for short. In the past Seaside High School in collaboration with the Cannon Beach Arts Association puts on an art day with 20 – 24 artists teaching a 90-minute workshop to a group of students.
CBAA is looking for artists or art instructors who would like to teach at Oregon Art Day. CBAA grees to pay the instructor $50/hour for onsite camp class hours teaching as an independent contractor and reimburse for material expenses. The instructor will present CBAA with art supply receipts to be reimbursed for supplies. The instructor is an independent contractor and is responsible for all tax liabilities.
