12 ANGRY JURORS
Based on the award-winning movie 12 Angry Men starring Henry Fonda.
On a hot summer day after a lengthy trial, a jury must decide whether a 19-year-old man is guilty of murdering his father.
The jury votes 11-1 that the man is guilty of the crime, but the law requires a unanimous vote by all 12 jurors to pass judgment.
Tempers flare as the eleven jurors try to convince the 1 dissenter to come to their side.
However, as the evidence is re-examined, new uncertainties come to light, forcing everyone to honestly question whether there is some measure of “reasonable doubt”.
Twelve Angry Jurors is a courtroom thriller that puts you on the edge of your seat while powerfully exploring what it means to live in a democracy.
Directed by Frank Squillo.

Local artist Lori Dillon will be on hand at Manzanita’s first Farmers Market of the season this Friday, May 26 to personalize and autograph copies of this year’s new 4th of July parade poster. The commemorative prints cost $30 each, and proceeds will help fund the parade.

The traditional, small-town celebration, a highlight of any summer, was suspended for three years, due to concerns about the pandemic.

The posters can also be purchased at the Manzanita Visitor Center — open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Copies of several previous years’ collectible posters are available.

Information about the parade, including participation applications and support opportunities, can be found at the Manzanita visitors’ website: visitmanzanita.org

Acknowledgements and Introspection

A valued community member brought to my attention my acknowledgement of candidates did not include those who ran unopposed. Given I am a commitment the NCRD and all in our 3 Villages endorse Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility (DEIA) as core values, it was an eye opener to see how easily people can be overlooked and the rigor it will take.

Candidates, please accept this acknowledgement of appreciation for those who have been in positions and saw their contribution was needed and wanted such that they applied again, thank you.

In retrospect, my comments toward Jack went too far, I apologize. Jack has been a committed, contributory board member for many years. Jack will be a very good mentor to those joining the board in July.
