Brass oil lamp with green glass lampshade

This old girl needs a polish for sure. Shes been on top of that exact cabinet for my last 7 houses and more than 40 years. Shes immortalized in a painting I did but it time for someone who will love her. She needs a polish real bad, probably a new wick but the one in there will probably still work. There’s no oil in it from the last move. I looked online but couldn’t find one exactly like her. Some close ranging from 175$ – 350$ – there’s no way I paid that much way back when. I’d be happy with 50$
Money I’ll use to pay a bill or more likely buy a few plants at 7 dees gardening center.

Let me know what you think. I’ll be posting other things for sale soon too. My new little house is just too small for all the stuff I brought from my last house.

ORCHESTRA PRESENTS FAMILY CONCERTS

Submitted By: sdawagner@icloud.com – Click to email about this post
The North Oregon Coast Symphony continues its 2024-2025 season with two concerts in March titled “Melodic Journeys.” Designed to please audience
members of all ages, the performances will feature Greg Smith’s “The Melodic Life.” This piece traces the life story of a “lighthearted melody named Bob,”
illustrating events like going to school, playing sports, and other developmental experiences. The underlying message that “variety is the spice of life” will be demonstrated through a wide range of musical themes.
The narrator will be Deac Guidi, a local professional opera singer who has performed with NOCS and throughout the northwest region.
Another feature in the program will be Robert Smith’s Symphony No. 2, “The Odyssey.” Inspired by the ancient Greek poet Homer’s epic tale, this work takes the audience on a dazzling musical voyage.
Morton Gould’s rousing “American Salute” will round out this concert series.
The first concert will take place on Saturday, March 15, at the Nehalem Elementary School Gym (36300 8th St., Nehalem, OR) beginning at 3:00 pm.
The second concert will be on Sunday, March 16, at the Bob Chisholm Community Center (1225 Avenue A, Seaside, OR) beginning at 3:00 pm.
Admission for both concerts will be $10. Ages 18 and under are FREE (children 12 and under with adult supervision).
Tickets will be available at the door only for both concerts.
Cookies and refreshments will be available at intermission.

SEE IT THIS WEEKEND! ‘THE MOUSETRAP’ BY AGATHA CHRISTIE AT NCRD

Submitted By: admin@riverbendplayers.org – Click to email about this post

SEE IT THIS WEEKEND!

Riverbend Players launched the 2025 season with our first-ever Agatha Christie murder mystery—playing to huge crowds!

With six remaining shows, THE MOUSETRAP runs through March 16th at the NCRD Performing Arts Center in Nehalem.

THE MOUSETRAP by Agatha Christie
Directed by Randy Schultz:

A classic murder mystery occurs in Monkswell Manor, a guesthouse where a snowstorm traps a group of strangers.

As news arrives of a murder nearby, the guests realize that the killer might be among them.

Detective Sergeant Trotter arrives to investigate, but as tensions rise and secrets are uncovered, another murder occurs.

The play is famous for its surprise twist ending, and audiences are traditionally asked to keep the plot’s resolution a secret.

The Mousetrap holds the world record as the longest-running play, debuting in 1952 and remaining continuously on stage.

Get your 2025 SEASON PASS now and save 20% on tickets. It’s only available until March 16th.

Tickets and the 2025 SEASON PASS are available now at www.RiverbendPlayers.org

Democrats Destroyed Ukraine

Andy Norris lost me in the first sentence of his recent pro-Russia screed: “Russia lost 50-million soldiers fighting Nazis in WW2.”

The total Soviet population from the somewhat-reliable 1939 census was 170,500,000, so clearly, 50,000,000 military war losses is way off.

Generally agreed upon Soviet deaths are estimated to have been 13,000,000 military and 14,000,000 civilian. The largest ethnic groups were Russians and Ukrainians.

Of course these two numbers don’t include Soviet losses incurred from 1939 to 1941 when Russia aligned with the Nazis to take over Poland and the Baltic countries.

Opinions are malleable, facts less so.

Join us Saturday, March 8 at 10 am for Tillamook County’s version of “Civic Saturdays” with Jim Heffernan hosting. The sermons explore new and better ways to be a citizen. They are aimed at developing “citizenship muscle. We will need “muscle” to bring power back to “We the People”, where it belongs. Each sermon functions as a stand-alone sermon. Don’t worry about missing earlier sessions.

This week’s sermon is “Legitimate Doubts” and is 34 minutes long and will explore our doubts about our government, our democracy, and our union. We can talk about the sermon afterwards, or not.

LARGE PIECES of CARDBOARD

Submitted By: sheila.bayside@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I am creating a no dig landscaping area at my house. I need oodles of big card board pieces to put on the ground. Big appliance boxes are great, for example.

I am in Nehalem. I will pickup. Or, if you have a lot, which would require more than one load in my compact Crossover SUV, perhaps, if your vehicle can haul more, I could pay you to drop your cardboard off at my house in Bayside Gardens/Nehalem

Thank you, Sheila Moran

For the Month of March NTLF Art in the Library Series presents the work of Lauren Oujiri, artist and photographer living in Nehalem. Lauren’s work has been featured in gallery exhibits and retail environments and are now on display at the Manzanita Library. Lauren loves sharing landscapes and intimate moments of our beloved North Coast along with close-ups of flowers, abstracts, and other subjects on social media daily (#laurenoujiri).  Lauren finds photography and creating art to be calming, illuminating, joyful, educational, and fascinating, and is grateful when people say they experience it that way, too. She believes we all are artists, that the world and each of us benefit from creating art, and, that “Life is Art.”
