There is much you can do for our gem of a library in Manzanita. As you may know, since 1987, our library has thrived through a partnership between the Tillamook County Library and North Tillamook Library Friends, which is a private charitable organization that owns and maintains the library building and grounds. Library Friends currently has a number of openings available for community members to join in maintaining and improving our wonderful community resources.

Library Friends is governed by a volunteer board of directors that works through informal teams of directors and other volunteers. Following is a description of the team needs we have now, or that will open up in 2024. Please keep in mind that the most important qualification for any role is a love of libraries!

MAINTENANCE TEAM
– Oversight of library building maintenance
– Oversight of the library garden
– Curator of local art displayed in the library

COMMUNICATION TEAM
– Newsletter writer
– Website coordinator
– Facebook coordinator

MEMBERSHIP TEAM
– Membership “friendraiser”
– Event planner

In addition, we are seeking a person who enjoys counting money to serve as Treasurer beginning in 2024.

Library Friends is populated by congenial community members who love our library. We would be pleased to welcome you into our volunteer community!
