Help wanted with Vintage Trailer Projects

Submitted By: artofrealestate@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I have a couple of old trailers that I don’t have as much time to work on at the moment, and I’m hoping to have one or two buttoned up before the rain comes, so I can spend winter working on interiors. Largely wiring and some reframing. I’m looking for someone who knows old trailers (wood frame) and simple wiring. I have lots of tools, parts and room, and not much time to devote to them currently. One is a 1970 Traveleze, and one is a 1967 Aladdin, to give you an idea. Must be dog-friendly.
I am not selling the trailers, I am just looking for some help to move forward, thank you. You can make your own schedule, any time spent would be better than what I’ve accomplished this summer!

Looking for metal roof recommendations

Submitted By: Mosspillows@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
It’s time to replace our roof and I would like to upgrade to a metal one for durability and improved fire safety. Hopefully I’ll add solar panels and a rain catchment system someday.

Does anyone out there have any experiences, advice, or recommendations they’d be willing to share? Suppliers, contractors, etc. I’d greatly appreciate any input!

Thank you very much!

More mask mandates and lockdowns starting September?

Submitted By: andynorris21@yahoo.com – Click to email about this post
I’ll go out on a limb and say this is highly likely:

“Whistleblowers from the TSA and Border Patrol have raised the alarm that the Biden administration is setting the stage for full Covid lockdowns that will begin with incremental restrictions like masking TSA employees in mid-September.

The first source cited a Tuesday meeting in which TSA managers were told new memorandums & policies were being completed that would reimplement masking, starting with TSA & airport employees as early as mid-September.

The TSA official also said next week they will receive new guidelines on how the policy will escalate: by mid-October, mask-wearing will be required by pilots, flight staff, passengers, and airport patrons.

After hearing from the TSA manager, this source confirmed the same directives were being given to Border Patrol.”

Like I’ve been saying, Covid1984 has just begun.

Get stocked up.

Free older 46” Vizio 1080p 120hz plasma tv

Submitted By: Firstmatesiggig@hotmail.com – Click to email about this post
Does not come with any mounting attachments. It came off a wall mount and the wall mount is being reused for a new tv. I could not locate the old base stand. This one still works great. As far as I know, It was a year Vizio used the previous years LG components. Buttons on the side are acting up and hard to push just right. We solved this with a universal remote(included). You pickup outside Nehalem. Text or email 5034578071

Neahkahnie Water District need for conservation

Submitted By: nwdmanager@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
SPECIAL NOTICE – NEAHKAHNIE WATER DISTRICT NEED FOR CONSERVATION

Please be aware that our natural spring fed flows are in significant decline and summer usage is high. Conservation measures are encouraged so we can maintain water supplies for essential needs, including potential fire fighting.
Fire is a real risk in our community due to heavy foliage and drought conditions – we must keep a sufficient reserve in place so firefighters have every opportunity to control an outbreak. You may be aware that the fire tragedy in Maui was worsened by inadequate water supply.

The best tool for water conservation is awareness – small efficiencies can add up! Some easy and meaningful methods of water conservation include:
> Eliminate use of overhead sprinklers.
> Allow lawns to go dormant.
> Postpone car/driveway/deck washing.
> Turn off fountains and water features.
> Run appliances only with full loads.
> Check for drips and leaks.
> If needing to water outside, water at night when the usage is less.

You may have noticed the A-frame signs we have put up on Neahkahnie roadways alerting drivers to our water situation – this is one of the ways we hope to reach everyone and impact behavior.
Our water resource is our true Neahkahnie Treasure – let’s all help conserve it.

Check Out $5 Tuesday Flowers

Submitted By: pattyrinehart@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Friends of North County Recreation District continue to sell flowers five days a week-Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. By gathering from different flower growers in our communities we can keep up with the demand without using too much water. Perhaps it’s time to get out there and do a rain dance! The flowers are for sale on a couple of tables next to the Manzanita Grocery & Deli in downtown Manzanita. And don’t forget the “deal day”, $5 Tuesday! Put some color on your table, inside or outside. Money raised by Friends goes to support NCRD scholarships, programs, and projects. In about two weeks Friends will be starting with the fall planted spring blooming bulb sale. We will also be selling amaryllis and paper whites. If you would like a copy of the catalog and a price sheet, please write to me:
pattyrinehart@nehalemtel.net
Friends want to thank all the people who brought us vases and all the people who are supporting our flower sales. Friends need help with many of our flower projects. We will sell flowers into September, hoping we get the rain we need to keep us going. For now, we need people to help us arrange flowers, especially on Friday. Again, write to me, and I can let you know what the drill is. Vases left at our table in Manzanita help keep our costs down.
Allergic to flowers but still want to help? Send a note to: Friends of NCRD, PO Box 511, Nehalem, Oregon, 97131. Friends of NCRD is a 501(c)(3) organization.

House to share in Bayside Gardens

Submitted By: nehalembayexperience@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
House to share in Bayside Gardens next to Elk Meadows Park, a nature preserve and a short walk to the Bay. Two rooms (bedroom/office-studio) with a private bathroom. Center section of home is a shared open floor plan with large kitchen, dining area, living room and laundry area. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, fireplace, piano and lots of light. My private rooms are on the opposite end of the structure. Plenty of garden areas for growing and relaxing.
I’m looking to share this quiet and peaceful space with a mature and stable woman who is looking for a long term residence. I am a mature, quiet, and respectful guy-self employed videographer/3D animator. A twenty seven year local, I have raised a family here and now wish to provide a solid base for someone who also enjoys our little edge of the earth. A pet or two is fine. Costs and pics with your response. Please email Drew at nehalembayexperience@gmail.com

Need Help restoring an 1850s Apple Press!

Submitted By: revolutionginger@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Are you someone who loves restoring antiques or likes to work with wood?

I need your help!

I have a 1850s era apple press that came over on the Oregon Trail. I would love to put it back to use this fall on my farm pressing apples.

The cast iron parts are all in fine shape but the wooden slatted apple press baskets and some other wooden parts are in need of restoration.

I have plenty of tools and woodworking things in my barn but I could use help doing the work.

Or if you prefer to restore it yourself I would be happy to let this apple press receive your love.

Let me know if you can help. Thank you!

Let’s keep trying in a small county

Tired of angry, divisive politics? Let’s try this, getting together for civil conversations about the things that matter to us. I’m looking for “reds”, “blues” and “in-betweens”. This week we plan to wrap up our discussion about ranked-choice voting and open primaries. (on the ballot next year) Maybe go on to “intellectual humility”, but maybe you would like a better subject. Ground rules are very simple. (1.) Everybody brings their best manners. (2.) Nobody talks for more than 4 minutes at a stretch. (3.) Nobody comes to win an argument or change anybody’s mind. (4.) Listening is more important than talking. Zoom meetings Friday’s at 9 AM and/or Saturday’s. at 10AM Friday, 9AM Invite : us06web.zoom.us/j/82147366055?pwd=VTU1UWVzYnUxOC8zWE1qRUkxRUJhUT09 Saturday 10AM Invite us06web.zoom.us/j/83271599024?pwd=TTg5dUtydk1McTFpd21nYTNDaFdBZz09 For more information contact Jim Heffernan at jheffernan@braverangels.org or at codger817@gmail.com
