Volunteer Opportunities with NCAM Foundation

The Neah-Kah-Nie Coast Art, Music & Cultural Foundation (NCAM) is excited to
announce new opportunities for board-level participation in a fast moving, active non-
profit. NCAM’s rapid growth means they are making a real difference in the community.
NCAM is a successful 501 c3 non-profit based out of Rockaway Beach, Oregon, that is
focused on promoting all the arts in both Neah-Kah-Nie School district and in all of
Tillamook County. NCAM is putting on the 4th annual Rockaway Writers Rendezvous on
April 24, 25, and 26th.
NCAM Successes and projects:

* Rockaway Beach Music Festival
* Sponsor: Music Tech Club at Neah-Kah-Nie High School (a county-wide student opportunity)
* Funded the purchase of a professional Whisper-Room soundproof booth for recording music and teaching students how to engineer sound.
* Created the ongoing Rockaway Writers Anthology, featuring a country-wide student writers and art contest and adult level contests
* Rockaway Writers Rendezvous writers’ workshops

NCAM is dedicated to serving the greater Tillamook County Community and has many other plans in the works. There are opportunities in many areas.

Skills needed:
* Social Media Outreach
* Record keeping and document tracking
* Written communication – press releases, articles for publication
* Knowledge of modern layout and design for book publication
* Project coordination and management
* Website development and management.
* Grant writing
* Grant management
* Fund-raising
* Advertising experience

There is one Secretary position open, and several new board positions are possible.

The ideal board members would be able to work well with other volunteers and on their own. Familiarity with online conferencing apps such as Zoom or Meet is a plus.

Hi folks,

We run a small vegetable farm in the area and typically hire 3-4 people a season (April-October/November) to work with us. We hire local folks and also typically have 2-3 people moving here from out of county.

I am looking for affordable options ($400-750/person) for individuals moving here. Do you want to try out having a roommate? Do you have a space where someone could camp onsite and share the kitchen/bathroom access?

Housing is the number one barrier to getting employees to our farm. We always have plenty of applicants and just need a place for them to land for the season.

Hello!

I’m working on starting a family garden and am trying to do it for as low of a cost as possible. If anyone has non-chemically treated lumber or pallets (or even pavers) that you would would be willing to part with, we’d love to take them off your hands for use in raised beds! We are also in search of ANY kinds of non-invasive vegetable, herb, flower, or fruit seeds. We’re not picking when it comes to GMO/non-GMO/heirloom, just as long as it has a shot at growing in our local climate! Willing to pick up or meet up anywhere from Wheeler to Manzanita (we’re in Nehalem). We would be willing to buy seeds, just trying to shoot for lower prices than the big-box stores offer for seed packets to save on funds.

Hi, I have a new prescription medication that is located at my specialist’s office in either Portland or Beaverton (if I give advanced notice for that office). They aren’t allowed to mail it, and I don’t drive. I’m wondering if someone in the community is traveling to one of those cities and might be able to pick it up? Their Portland office is open Mon-Wed 8:30am-5pm (closed for lunch 12:30-1:30pm); their Beaverton office is open Tues-Thurs 8:30am-5pm (closed for lunch 12:30pm-1:30pm).

PT Caregiver in Cannon Beach

We are looking for a dependable, honest, friendly caregiver to help me with dressing, bathing, toileting, some light housekeeping, and taking me to appointments.

I am an elderly female with mobility issues. I use a walker in the house, but need a wheelchair when I leave home and need help with transfers.

The caregiver will work two or three days a week, 10 to 24 hours per week. The number of days, total hours, and times are negotiable, depending on my and the caregiver’s needs. The pay for the position is $25.00 per hour. The starting date is the first week of May.

Desired qualifications include experience with caregiving, especially for older adults; good communication skills; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record; vaccinations; and good organizational skills.
