I can tow with my vehicle if you have a trailer I can rent or if you have a truck with a flatbed and an hour to help, I can pay for your time.

I am looking to move to the North Coast area of Oregon. I am excited to start a wonderful job in the area and am looking to lease a space for myself for 3 to 6 months while my family wraps things up in Buffalo. Move in would be sometime in December, our goal is to have a home by April.

We are a couple in our early 30s who are looking to purchase our first home. We currently live in Wheeler and have dreamt of planting permanent roots here for years. As you are probably well aware, the housing market is tough out here and we are reaching out in case anyone in the community is considering selling their home. We are pre-approved for a mortgage but are also open to short-term owner financing or rent-to-own. We are looking exclusively between Nehalem and Brighton, something close to two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. As long as the place has good bones, we are able to take on a fixer-upper. Below is a link for a Meal Train for Sheila. She is a senior who lives alone and is recuperating from a very recent total hip replacement surgery at home on her own. People have already generously participated in this meal train by making and dropping off a meal. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Donations to Support Smiley Salmon Harvest

After two record-breaking years, 2022 didn’t disappoint with over 1,400 fish and a Grant’s Getaways feature story on KGW (see link below)! We provided over 6,000 cans of salmon to food banks and food programs throughout Tillamook County, and Neah-Kah-Nie High School students designed labels – the selected label for 2022 is featured above. Once again, it is time to harvest and can salmon for distribution, and the need is even greater as food insecurity continues to greatly impact our local communities. The Smiley Brothers & Sisters continue to organize volunteers to take the salmon bounty from the North Fork Nehalem Fish Hatchery for processing in Garibaldi. The harvest is alive and well with experienced leadership and volunteers to provide the North Tillamook County Food Bank, Tillamook Regional Food Bank and local senior meals programs this valuable, local nutritional support for North Coast families.
Our ODFW biologist has contacted us and predictions are for another LARGE run of coho salmon.

So, your donations are needed now more than ever.
Here’s a bit of the history: The Smiley Bros. began these coordinated partnerships in 2009 to harvest, process and distribute local Coho Salmon to the local food bank. This tremendous bounty of high quality Omega-3 proteins is needed by all but especially by our youth and aging populations. The success over the last 14 years is made possible with the support of Oregon Fish and Wildlife, the North County Food Bank, the Eugene Schmuck Foundation, and the Tillamook County Creamery Association has helped with significant donations as well as many more organizations and individuals.
To ensure your donations are tax-deductible, the Smiley Brothers Salmon Harvest is a program of Fulcrum Community Resources as the sponsoring 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. For more about Fulcrum Community Resources, go to www.fulcrumresources.org.
We are thankful for continued support, with help and donations, we have provided thousands of pounds of local salmon to our food bank. We are hopeful of your continuing support for the delivery of this valuable food source to our North Coast communities.
The community continues to step up, working closely with ODF&W, local processors, and the volunteers who transport the harvested Salmon from the North Fork Nehalem River to Garibaldi for processing, labeling and distribution. It simply cannot be done without your donations to offset costs and put these nutritious meals on the table for the hungry in our community.

Need a handyperson who can disconnect hoses to dishwasher. Dishwasher not running correctly and suspect (after pulling it out from under counter) there might be a clog in draining hose. I do not have the expertise or tools to unhook it from the two places under the sink that it is currently hooked to.

MEALS FOR A LIVE ALONE SENIOR FOLLOWING A OCT 17 SURGERY

Sheila Moran is a disabled senior who lives alone in Bayside Gardens/Nehalem. She is hoping folks in our community will sign up on a meal train schedule to drop off meals at her house after she returns home October 18 following a a major surgery . She is already disabled in ways that may make recovery a little more difficult at first. She will really appreciate if folks can help her receive meals until she is better able to care for herself again. She is unable to eat gluten or milk products. She avoids sweets/dessert and super salty stuff. She loves veggies and likes proteins like beans/legumes, poultry, fish and lean hamburger. The main carbs she can eat are beans, quinoa, rice and corn. Looking for a ceramic apprentice for a two month time frame, roughly October 16-December 15!

You’ll learn techniques of ceramic production to help fulfill our holiday inventory- including hand building, glazing, and firing for a local ceramic business.

Schedule will be up to you, with ~6 hr/a week commitment. This is a skill share apprentice experience offered to a complete beginner, or someone experienced, looking to learn ceramics from start to finish.

Our pack of three – two adults and a senior dog – are looking to finally call the Oregon Coast home. While we are searching for the right property to purchase, we would like to rent a 1-2 bedroom home in the meantime, beginning as early as November.

We are two professionals in our mid-40s and we’ve just moved our family to Nehalem! We are looking for a small workspace in Wheeler, Nehalem, or Manzanita for one of us to work M-Fri from ~9:30-4. Ideas include: room in a quiet house, detached building in your backyard, really anything with nice light & access to internet. Happy to pay for the space month-to-month.
