Who We Are:
Riverbend Players is a beloved local theater company dedicated to bringing high-quality productions to the community. We stage various shows yearly, from classic comedies to thought-provoking dramas.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are searching for individuals with a passion for theater and a desire to make a positive impact. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and skills, especially those with experience in:
-Marketing & Public Relations: Spreading the word about our productions and growing our audience.
-Finance & Accounting: Overseeing our budget and ensuring the financial health of the organization.
-Fundraising & Grant Writing: Securing funding to support our productions and educational programs.
-Governance & Strategic Planning: Helping to guide the vision and direction of Riverbend Players.
-Law & Legal Affairs: Providing legal expertise and guidance to the board.
What it Means to be a Working Board Member:
-Attend monthly board meetings and actively participate in discussions.
-Volunteer your time and expertise to serve on a board committee.
-Assist with fundraising initiatives and special events.
-Be a champion for the Riverbend Players in the community.
-Actively participate in the production of the plays we put on.

There have been multiple public information requests made regarding this investigation and ALL of them have been denied by the district attorney because there are confidential elements that cannot be shared. So the promise made in this fictional piece to hack a computer to get the story is just that… fiction. Also, it’s illegal.
Why would anyone spend to much time creating a fictional soap opera to damage a town and the town’s city council’s reputation?

The sale starts next Friday March 22 at 6 pm but you can take a look at the plants and their descriptions now. The sale will be both online and in-person. Fictional Soap Opera – Episode 4
In the coastal haven of Manzanita, where secrets are as common as the shifting sands, the drama deepens. The quaint beach town, still reeling from the revelations of previous episodes, finds itself on the cusp of a storm that promises to shake its very foundations.
The episode opens at dawn, with the serene waves washing over the beach, a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing within Manzanita. Victoria, the intrepid reporter known for her sharp wit and unwavering determination to uncover the truth, finds herself at The Cove, the epicenter of the town’s clandestine activities. It’s here, amidst the lingering aroma of coffee and sea salt, that she encounters Ruby, the observant waitress whose silent vigil over the council’s secret meeting had revealed the depth of their deceit.
Their meeting is not by design rather than chance, a calculated decision by Victoria, who recognized the value of Ruby’s potential inside knowledge from meetings at The Cove. Ruby, initially wary, finds a kindred spirit in Victoria—a fellow warrior in the battle for truth. Their conversation, hushed and urgent, is a dance of shared secrets and mutual respect. They speak of the council’s plot to bury the damning report, of the $160,000 legal fee that continues to climb, and of their resolve to bring the council’s lies to light.
As their alliance is forged, Ruby mentions her friend Shirley, a clerk at the city hall with a penchant for justice and a heart burdened by the secrets she has been forced to keep. Shirley, disillusioned by the council’s manipulations and fearful of the consequences, had long sought a way to make amends.
The trio convenes under the cloak of twilight at the nearby Nehalem dock, a secluded spot. With the gently flowing Nehalem River in the background, witness to centuries of the history of the North Coast, they pledge to work together to expose the council’s corruption. Shirley, the final piece of their puzzle, reveals she has access to the elusive investigation report—the key to unraveling the web of lies spun by the council.
“Can you really get it without being found out?” asked Victoria.
“It’s difficult to access and not on my computer. I’ll need a password and passwords change,” Shirley replied. “But staff often writes passwords on their station so they don’t forget.”
“Quite a security system!” Victoria interjected.
“If I can get access,” said Shirley, “I can download the report to one of my son’s thumb drives. Big question is when to make my move – early, lunch break or end of the day.”
Their plan is daring and fraught with risk. Victoria will use her platform to bring the story to the public, armed with any evidence Shirley can provide. Ruby, with her unparalleled access to the town’s power players, will keep her ear to the ground, gathering intelligence and alerting her allies to any responses by the council. Shirley, meanwhile, will navigate the treacherous waters of city hall, secretly securing the report and any further evidence of the council’s misdeeds.
As Episode 4 draws to a close, the trio’s resolve is tested. A mysterious figure, cloaked in the shadows of Nehalem’s storefronts, watches their meeting with keen interest, recording a video of the meeting. “Who’s that? Don’t look.” whispers Victoria, glancing over Ruby’s shoulder. “Looks like somebody is following us. We need to be extra careful.”
The stakes are higher than ever, and the battle lines are drawn. With the town as their backdrop, Victoria, Ruby, and Shirley embark on a journey that promises to bring the truth to light and restore the integrity of their beloved Manzanita.
As the tide rolls in, so too does the promise of justice. The alliance, once formed in the shadows, now stands as a beacon of hope for Manzanita. Can they obtain and reveal the report? What are the risks for each of them? Who is following them? The episode ends with the mysterious onlooker disappearing into the shadows, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering, eagerly anticipating the next episode of “The Tides of Manzanita.”

The scene is Hazlehurst, Mississippi, where the three Magrath sisters have gathered to await news of the family patriarch, their grandfather, who is living out his last hours in the local hospital.
Lenny, the oldest sister, is unmarried at thirty and facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg, the middle sister, who quickly outgrew Hazlehurst, is back after a failed singing career on the West Coast; while Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after having shot her husband in the stomach.
Their troubles, grave and yet somehow hilarious, are highlighted by their priggish cousin, Chick, and by the awkward young lawyer who tries to keep Babe out of jail while helpless not to fall in love with her.
In the end, the play is the story of how its characters escape the past to seize the future—but the telling is so true and touching and consistently hilarious that it will linger in the mind long after the curtain has closed.

Anger is a normal, very valid emotion, that comes with grief and loss….. especially with unexpected and unexplainable loss.
Anger needs to be felt, to be expressed, to be witnessed, to be released…..or it will manifest as dis-ease emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and even physically
There will be a Sacred Scream Session on Sunday morning, March17th, at 9 AM, on the beach. We will meet on the end of Laneda, in Manzanita and move towards the water, for ceremony
Please join us, to scream, to cry, to wail, to yell- to breathe and release some of our anger and grief…..within a safe, supportive and loving container. Facilitated by Minister Christy Kay.
