We meet every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at St Catherine’s welcoming Sanctuary…

We are a meditation Sangha sharing leadership.

We work to create a safe, non-denominational gathering that is always free to all.

We often work with a specific text or book for one part of our meeting. This gives rise to the invitation to share what is alive in our lives and inspiration.

We source our meditation and focused learning in buddhist roots while encouraging all to nourish and deepen their own spiritual traditions and changing needs…Simply listening to what is present.

Several small-ish items will be available should you need a gift in the upcoming week(s) and a fair amount of larger jars-jugs-bags as well.
Regional bee pollen – YES – available in two portion sizes – real Vermont maple SUGAR – YES – also available in two portion sizes – Oregon Wildflower honey QUART jars ($25) – going fast. New releases from the dazzling OSO beekeeping group – Oregon Meadowfoam (not-for-the-timid!) – and Pumpkin Chicory – $20 each per pint. Full gallon raw honeys of raw honey are now $95 per jar – and they will go higher in 2023 – I will have two perfectly crystallized Clover-Meadowfoam with me (it’s delicious). Manzanita is fortunate that 3 citizens campaigned long and hard for 2 city council seats. Congratulations to Brad Mayerle and Linda Koslowski for their victories, and also to Mark Kuestner for earning significant citizen support. It was a very close race run with dignity and respect.
None of us hit the campaign trail alone. We were all backed by teams of friends, believers and spouses who did much of the hard work and gave us significant guidance along the way. And, to our supporters, those who were out front as well as behind the scenes, there is no way to thank each of you individually for your contributions. However, kudos goes out to the Concerned Citizens of Manzanita and to the Women’s Forum who knocked on a lot of doors, and also to those who hosted gatherings and encouraged citizens to make every vote count.
Speaking personally, my thanks will be in working towards implementing some of those changes that many of you hope to see happen. Respecting all people – whether or not you share a view – will be the norm. Opening doors to discussions so all sides can be heard – will be the norm. Councilors and city officials listening to what you have to say – will be the norm. Finally, putting major spending and other significant packages to a vote by citizens – will be one of my personal goals as mayor.
Thanks, also, to the hundreds of citizens who voted. I am overwhelmed by your support, engaged by the lively banter of opposiing views and encouraged about the vision of our city coming together.

Mystery author Ellie Alexander likes to bake. It’s no surprise, then, that her Bakeshop mystery series includes the titles, “Muffin But the Truth,” “Donut Disturb” and “Nothing Bundt Trouble.”

Alexander will discuss her books – and maybe offer a recipe – when she visits the Cannon Beach Library at 2 p.m. Nov. 12. This is a hybrid event; the presentation can be viewed in person at the library or online: www.cannonbeachlibrary.org.

The event is also a part of WOW! Weekend, a three-day festival in Cannon Beach featuring local vendors, artists, speakers and performers. All library events are free and open to the public.

In addition to the Bakeshop series, Alexander’s cozy mysteries include the Sloan Krause mysteries, the Pacific Northwest and Rose City mystery series and several stand-alone novellas and collaborations.

Alexander notes that the Pacific Northwest is a backdrop for every book, and the location “almost becomes another character in each series.”

Her books feature charming small towns, idyllic settings, delicious foods and drinks and lovable characters (and sometimes, even murder).

A voracious storyteller, Alexander says her goal is to “tell stories that provide points of connection, escape and understanding.”

Alexander has published over 30 books in hardcover, mass-market paperback, e-book, audio, and Japanese. Her writing has appeared in regional and international publications including Climbing Magazine, Women’s World, Buzz Feed, The Oregonian and Portland Family Magazine. She also teaches classes and workshops on writing and marketing.

The event is offered by the NW Authors Series, a committee of the Cannon Beach Library that sponsors monthly author talks and other events from September through May.

Hi! We are excited to announce that Rockaway Roastery is now open!! To mark the irony of how long it took, the included photo is from July 4th…

We are open every day but Tuesday and will stay open late Wed-Sun. We are currently serving our full espresso menu and a large selection of baked goods. Within the next couple of weeks we will be adding in our other menu items including biscuit sandwiches, flatbreads, pizzas, and more!

We have 8 beers on tap along with a nice selection of bottled beers. Growlers welcome. Curated selection of wine featuring some natural/biodynamic options.

The stage will be ready for primetime in December, so if you are in a band or have some talent, talk to us about creating a show. If you have a book club or anything where you need a place to meet, we like to call ourselves Rockaway’s new living room. Lastly, we are starting a Spanish/English conversational group for those who want to improve conversing in either language.

I’m Charles McNeilly and I am running to be your Mayor. Are you undecided? Let me tell you about Cindy Kay Gregory and me.
I first met Cindy Kay Gregory when she was out gathering signatures to get on the ballot as a candidate for Councilor. Our paths crossed next at a City Council meeting. I quickly learned that Cindy Kay was running for the same reasons I am – to provide increased opportunities for residents and merchants to be heard. We want to build lines of communication between elements of our community and all aspects of city government.
We want Rockaway Beach to meet our challenges and build a vibrant community collaboratively. We want to foster trust within and between individuals and city government. Hi folks – Jeff the “honey and maple syrup guy” here – my current brand of real Vermont maple syrup is going to be changed out post-haste – and replaced with another (or two – which won’t be any less expensive) – so I have some large containers of real maple syrup to sell! This could be a great chance for a restaurant or bakery to save a few bucks on the very best Vermont has to offer (or for someone who wants to give out some REALLY impressive holiday gifts!)
I have SIX full gallons of syrup in classic white “jug” (yes – BPA-free food grade) – $70 per jug while they last – or you can take two for $130 – or THREE for $180.
There are EIGHT of the half-gallon jars in glass (all amber-rich grade – the middle one) – normally $45 each – contact me if you want to get a bunch.
