General Repair, Maintenance, Installations, Demo & Dump

Submitted By: nickburnsconstruction@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hi my name is Nick Burns, I was born and raised on the coast. I grew up doing all different kinds of maintenance in hotels, vacation rentals, and residential homes. Later I worked for a general contractor for almost two years doing miscellaneous carpentry inside and out of commercial buildings and residential homes. I then met another general contractor who guided and helped me get licensed as well as start a company of my own. Now I’m looking to do weekend work under my own name for extra income and to be more proactive on weekends.

No job is too small, text me at (503) 741-1384 to set up a time for me to stop by for a free consultation and estimate.

MAYOR’S MONDAYS
Thank you citizens from Manzanita and Nehalem who have participated in the Mayor’s Mondays at the Manzanita Library. It has been refreshing to have free-flowing discussions about issues facing our community with a variety of cultures coming together.
Unfortunately, I have to cancel May 15, but will be back in the WONDER GARDEN @ 10:30 on May 22 (weather permitting). And also in the WONDER GARDEN on May 29 @ 5:00.
There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about. Margaret Wheatley.

Nehalem Bay Garden Club Plant Sale THIS Weekend

Submitted By: barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post

The Nehalem Bay Garden Club’s annual plant sale will be held this weekend: Saturday, May 13th from 10-3 and Sunday, May 14th from 10 to noon.

Location of the sale is 43080 Northfork Rd, Nehalem at the junction of Hwy 53 and Northfork Rd with horse statues in the front yard and real horses in the back yard! Start on North Fork Rd at the blinking light in Nehalem and go 5 miles to the end of N Fork Road. The sale is on the left.

Available at reasonable prices will be all kinds of plants: hanging baskets, planters with colorful flowers, perennials, annuals, shrubs, trees, houseplants, natives, herbs, succulents, ground covers and vegetables.

Also on offering will be Mother’s Day gifts and a raffle for basket of garden goodies, a hand made garden wire cloche and a large indoor ficus (fig) tree. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 6 for $20.

The Sharpenator will be available at the sale all day Saturday. So bring your tools that need a new edge.

Also only on Saturday, bring your children and they can create wee gardens while you shop. Children are invited to plant tiny gardens as commitments to Planet Earth — and possibly Mothers’ Day gifts. All materials provided.

We encourage you to pay with cash or check and to round up! Nehalem Bay Garden Club donates proceeds from the sale to local organizations that share the Club’s mission. Past recipients include Food Roots, Hoffman Gardens, Alder Creek Farm, Tillamook Early Learning Center, Tillamook Chamber Comm Foundation, North County Food Bank, Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church for their food programs, Nehalem Elementary Garden Program, and the mural at Nehalem City Park.

And while you are in the neighborhood, Aldervale Native Plants is having an open house on Saturday from 9-4 across the road from the Garden Club sale. 43005 North Fork Rd.

Health Care

Submitted By: yuiqwe1@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
If you are concerned about the small increase in property taxes that will occur if the bond for a new health care center passes compare that to the significant increase in property value that will accrue by having a new high quality health care facility in the immediate neighborhood. You will more than make up for the tax increase if you avoid the expense of gas for one or two drives a year to Portland, Astoria or even Tillamook to get care.
