FROM FLOWERS TO SCHOLARSHIPS
The heart of Friends of North County Recreation District FUNDRAISING is FLOWERS, and The Flower Committee is on track to bring in a Summer Season record-breaking $5,000 for scholarships.

“It takes a village” – and in this case, it takes three villages! More than thirty dedicated volunteers from Nehalem, Wheeler, Manzanita have given their time, talent, and flowers to make this fundraising effort a success.

Volunteers gather at the garden of Flower Committee Chair, Patty Rinehart, every morning to make arrangements for sale at the Little Apple and for Special Orders. Some volunteers bring flowers and greens from their own gardens; some make flower arrangements; some transport orders. Everyone enjoys coming together to benefit families in our community.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Friends of NCRD is always looking for New Volunteers. WOULD THAT BE YOU?

If so, call Linda Makohon @ 503-504-6224

And don’t forget the Friends of North County Recreation District will be soon beginning to sell Spring blooming bulbs and Amaryllis. Call Linda.

FRIENDS MISSION: To support NCRD programs and projects through promotion, fundraising, and providing scholarships to encourage inclusion for all.

Friends is currently selling flowers next to the Little Apple seven days a week. Fresh picked every morning you will find these bouquets calling your name. Many from $5-$10. Help us provide scholarships locally to people using NCRD.

Oregon Auditors Find 2.9 billion in errors in state government

Submitted By: dixiedarrow@icloud.com – Click to email about this post
What’s going on in Oregon? Are you wondering?

The following is an excerpt from an article from Dennis Lithicum who is running for state treasurer.
The mainstream media hopes that if they don’t report the facts, or communicate things that are actually true, then the truth will never come out or even see the light of day.

Is that how truth works—NO!

Truth is not consensus. Truth doesn’t come from polling data; Truth is Truth. Every human heart knows this, regardless of how they view it, ignore it, review it, redact it or clean it up.

Here’s one for you: this year, Oregon’s State Auditors discovered $2.9B worth of errors across 11 Oregon state agencies and organizations.

This is akin to misplacing 2,900 homes, worth $1M each. That’s a lot of million-dollar homes to misplace in a state with only 4.2 million people.

It turns out existing office-holders do not survive because of the pristine, error-free and benevolent nature of their policies, but through the sustenance of their power. But, like the decay that besets an old carcass in the desert, their power is slowly diminishing.

This is mainly because of the hard truths spilling from the news. These realities can no longer be ignored – inflation, housing, transportation, energy, food supplies, public-service degradation, forest management, air quality, immigration, organized crime, cartels, fentanyl, and behavioral health are all signposts that demand accountability.

Unfortunately, each of these issues aren’t just newspaper headlines, they are the issues of life. They impact real people, people who live and work in our neighborhoods.

When people are drained of hope, free-volition and responsibility they become like leaves blowing in the wind. The majority party seems to relish this state of affairs because they believe these individuals should be huddled up and pushed about in various government programs. They think of government like an all-controlling, super-duper leaf-blower.

But… what if people want to control their own lives?

What if Oregonians want freedom? This is the heart of my campaign—give people freedom as their inherent right. Show them the accountability, transparency, and truth that their tax-dollars so rightly deserve.

We should never be afraid; we should argue for truth at every step and remember freedom is costly. Oregon alone can restore its renown by winning freedom with its own hands and restoring our state’s former stature, in this upcoming election.

This article was written by Dennis Lithicum who is running for State treasurer against Sen. Elizabeth Steiner.
In my opinion voting for a Democrat for treasurer is like voting for a fox to watch the hen house.

Every so often the pendulum gets knocked off its rocker:

rumble.com/v5c6cw4-trump-and-rfk-jr.-together-are-running-to-the-left-of-kamala-harris.html?e9s=src_v1_ucp

This speech below by a KENNEDY, who is JUST LIKE JOHN AND BOBBY, is why so many of us former Democrats now fully reject the party and prefer to take a risk with The Don, who, by the way, is the only president of my lifetime NOT to start a new war, despite the CIA attempting to bait him into Iran, and into Syria to turn Obama’s dirty war in that country into overt war. The Don refused to start those wars, and he refused to push Russia into war via Ukraine. He likes Russia, remember? But the dems took office and were more than happy to provoke Russia to war along with the other NATO warring countries, which they did, and now 600,000 Ukrainians are dead, and that country is destroyed.

I’ve worked with two Ukrainian refugees, and I can assure you the destruction of Ukraine is very real; their lives were destroyed by NATO and American Democrats for military-industrial dollars.

In all this Gaza stuff, STILL NOTHING about Ukraine from the ‘Not Another Bomb’ fake anti-war crowd…

RFK, Jr. is the LAST Democrat in my view, his words below make the rest of the party – The New/Woke Democrats – unrecognizable as the Democrats I once knew.

United Paws’ Cats of the Week

Submitted By: Coastbbqfree@protonmail.com – Click to email about this post
Are you looking for an adult cat companion? Meet Olive and Isis. These young cats have fantastic personalities! Olive (tabby) is the classic entertaining, cartoonish cat to have around the house – she wrestles her mirror image, loves to lounge and gaze out the window, and tells you about her day with her very sweet vocalizations. Isis (sable brown) is the lover of the two – she wants to snuggle next to you for pets, lounge in her favorite chair, and follow you around the house. They enjoy playing with toys, both independently and with a human. Olive performs incredible gymnastics when chasing the feathers on a wire, while Isis makes lightening-fast moves to secure the prey.
Olive and Isis were rescued from a crowded trailer, each with a new litter of kittens. After weaning their kittens, these young moms went to a loving foster home.
Both cats are neutered, vaccinated, and healthy, ready for their forever family. Contact United Paws through our web site, www.unitedpaws.wordpress.com or call 503-842-5663.
