NCRD PARKING LOT CLOSURE UPDATE FOR APRIL 8 AND LATER IN WEEK

Submitted By: barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
NCRD PARKING LOT CLOSURE UPDATE: PREPPING MONDAY APRIL 7, TUESDAY APRIL 8, PAVING LATER IN THE WEEK, WATCH FOR UPDATES

Currently, Monday morning April 7th, parking lots are open at NCRD, and likely parking lots will be open tomorrow, Tuesday April 8th. The contractors are preparing for the paving which will hopefully happen later this week – Thursday April 10th – or early next week (Monday April 14, Tuesday April 15), depending upon the weather, and will impact all the parking areas.
During the closures, patrons are asked to park at the downtown Nehalem parking lot, at the pickleball courts or the Nehalem Bay Methodist Church – and the WAVE bus will provide free rides to NCRD.
When the parking lots are closed, look for the signage at the parking areas. The Tillamook County Transportation District/The Wave Route 3 bus will provide a fare-free deviation as it travels north and south through Nehalem. Each trip will travel off route to serve the pickleball courts, the parking lot at Hwy. 101 and 7th Street, and the Nehalem Methodist Church lots and take customers to NCRD; then pick up at NCRD and reverse the extra stops along the route. Look for the sandwich boards in each location for the WAVE NCRD bus. Patrons should be at the lots a few minutes before those scheduled times and can board for free after telling the driver they wish to go to NCRD.
Here are the times each Route 3 trip is scheduled to be in Nehalem: 5:53a, 6:15, 8:58, 10:00, 10:58, 12:00noon, 1:38p, 2:00p, 3:28p, 4:30p, 7:13p and 8:15p
A reminder that NCRD is still an active construction zone – no parking in the lower lot by the new aquatics center, and obey all NO PARKING signage. Please bring your patience with you when parking at NCRD and be respectful of the neighbors by not blocking driveways or entrances. If you can carpool to classes or events, please do so to lessen the impacts. Do not utilize the City rights-of-way as parking spaces, especially on the east side of 9th Street. There are cones and signage, please do not remove the cones/signage, and obey the restrictions.
There are likely to be some changes to the paving schedule and we may have to close the parking lots to accommodate equipment, and preparations for the paving and striping.
“We appreciate the patience – we’ll say it again – of our patrons and our neighbors as we negotiate the final stages of the construction of the new Aquatics Center,” said Justin Smith, Executive Director.
If you have questions, please call 855-444-6273, or go to www.ncrd.org.

A Great American Plantsman? Coming Here?

Submitted By: ketzel.levine@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Let’s set the record straight.

We’re aware of crazy rumors around town that a world-renowned plant explorer and nurseryman is coming to talk in Manzanita.

That he once owned Heronswood Nursery on the Kitsap Peninsula, a celebrated Mecca for plant lovers far and wide…

That he now owns Windcliff Nursery, so outrageously exclusive that one needs to book in advance to shop there (seriously?)…

That Monrovia Plants thought enough of his explorations and introductions to the plant world that they gave him his very own line of plants…

And that his skills as a gardener are rivaled only by his talents as a comedian (a funny horticulturist. Right).

So. Let’s get real.

We categorically dispute the fact that the celebrated DAN HINKLEY is speaking in Manzanita. In fact, he’s speaking at NCRD in Nehalem.

We cannot deny he did own Heronswood, he does own Windcliff and yes, Monrovia offers a signature plant line called The Dan Hinkley Collection.

But now for the big question: is the guy that funny?

Well, yeah!

Join us April 25th when the Hoffman Wonder Garden presents “My Life in Plants” with the truly inimitable – and admittedly, irresistible – Mr. Dan Hinkley.

(Trust me, I wouldn’t have spent 7 years trying to get the guy here if he wasn’t!).

Coastal Community Creatives this Thursday

Hello Creatives! This is what’s happening this Thursday at the White Clover Grange:

“This week we’ll be learning beginner crocheting techniques including how to hold the hook/yarn, starting a row or a round, basic stitches, keeping tension/gauge, and tips and tricks for making crochet easier! Please bring a crochet hook (I recommend a metal hook from size G/4.00 to J/6.00) and a light colored weight 4 yarn (this is also called “worsted” weight, I recommend either acrylic or wool to learn on, but cotton works great as well! Non-white, non-gradient, light colors will make stitches easiest to see.) I’m excited to help our group expand our crochet knowledge!”

Don’t forget to bring two cans of food for the Food Bank and a small donation for the Grange maintenance fund.

See you there!

MUSICAL STORY TIME at Manzanita Library

Submitted By: sdawagner@icloud.com – Click to email about this post
Musical Storytime, a hands-on activity for preschoolers, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7th at the North Tillamook Library in Manzanita.
The free readings, for children ages 3 to 5, will feature a live oboe accompaniment by North Oregon Coast Symphony musician, Laurie Swanson. This month children will hear Do Like a Duck Does by Judy Hindley and Ivan Bates. In this story a mother duck is on a walk with her ducklings when suddenly a large, furry, brown duck joins the group. Drama, rhythm, and sunny images in this book make it a favorite with young children. Swanson will talk more about the instruments she plays, the oboe and English horn, and will demonstrate playing both during this event. After the reading, children will experience playing some different wind instruments.
Similar events are being planned monthly in partnership between The North Oregon Coast Symphony, North Tillamook Library and Astoria Library. For more information, visit the symphony’s website at www.nocsymphony.org. or www.astoria.gov/dept/Library at 503-325-7323.

Hand’s Off!

Submitted By: runnawaytrain1@gmx.com – Click to email about this post
File this post in your ‘why Trump won’ file.
The link below deals with a MALE SEX-OFFENDER who posed as a 15-YR. OLD HIGH SCHOOL GIRL and tried to register for classes in a Portland public school.  The crazies at KGW make no mention of the FACT that this is a MAN.  They say this is a WOMAN posing as a GIRL. (You can’t make this woke sh*t up)
I’m not sure who is more insane, the news anchors ‘reporting’ this with straight faces or the MALE SEX-OFFENDER pretending to be a 15 yr. old girl.
As a whole, as a culture, Portland fuels the flames of this anti-science insanity. From ‘covid’ to big farma hormone shots for children, science and common sense are tossed out the window in Wokeland.
For example, before being allowed into a Portland hospital last year, I was asked what my gender was. I am obviously a man. I answered ‘woman’. I’m not sure which gender the woke droid wrote on her paper, but I hope she didn’t misgender me! I was identifying as a woman that day, and all women are to be believed!
I went to an eye appointment two months ago, walked into the office and the receptionist asked if I was Jamal. I answered, ‘Do I look like Jamal?’ (I am obviously white) Then for my ‘preferred language’ I wrote Swahili. Sadly, nobody spoke Swahili to me while I was there.
My favorite example is the “MY BODY MY CHOICE” abortion-advocate crowd. When folks like me who wouldn’t shoot the ‘covid’ mRNA-frankenjunk started saying ‘MY BODY MY CHOICE’ those well-principled abortion advocates stood right by our sides and agreed that the gov’t had no right to tell us what to do with our bodies! OH WAIT!!!! That’s NOT WHAT HAPPENED AT ALL! Instead, the abortion-advocates ABANDONED THAT PRINCIPLE!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT SEE “MY BODY MY CHOICE” signs from NARAL or whomever at pro-abortion events anymore, because THAT CROWD HAS ZERO PRINCIPALS, evidenced by their prompt abandonment of a human’s right to individual bodily autonomy during the viral release and engineered shutdown from Musk/Fauci/Gates/CIA/Rothschilds.
The crazy goes on: I have a friend who is a private investigator in Portland. She interviews sex offenders, rapists, murderers etc., is in high demand, etc. She also does extensive background checks, and applied for a gig with the Multnomah County Sheriff Department to do background checks on applicants. The man and woman who interviewed her were obviously a man and a woman. Like super obvious. The woketards in county gov’t MADE IT A RULE THAT THEY MUST USE THEIR PRONOUNS WHEN DOING INTERVIEWS. Yup, this male and female longtime multco sheriff dept employees were mandated to introduce themselves with their pronouns by the cooks in county gov’t. My PI friend thought it was a joke, that there must be a hidden camera somewhere. She did NOT use her pronouns as she is OBVIOUSLY A WOMAN. If these woke folk could throw us in jail for misgendering them and for not using pronouns they sure as hell would. These pronoun folks in county gov’t who did the above are authoritarian fascists, as defined in a post on this site weeks back.
Back to trans: I am in contact with trans folks daily when in Wokeland; at ATT, Safeway, the bank, Starbucks. There are LOTS of trans folks pouring in from all over the country.  And most are very, very nice people.  Perhaps a bit neurotic, as that crowd (still) loves wearing splash-guard surgical masks (that don’t stop viral transmission) in higher numbers than the average citizen, but overall the trans folks I come in contact with are very, very nice people.
And the ‘reporting’ from KGW below does NOT help their cause; nor does allowing men to play in girls sports help the trans cause. It only causes division as it is insanely UNFAIR and against Title 9 to demand that CONFUSED MEN COMPETE WITH GIRLS. (Funny how trans folks have yet to penetrate college womens basketball and softball. I wonder why that is? Because there is TOO MUCH MONEY INVOLVED, so they target girls high school sports and collegiate girls sports that don’t make much money for the skools and networks, like swimming and track.
The whole trans craziness is actually a divide and conquer operation in my view, and the banksters and tech bros pushing it care as much about trans folks as Bud Light does Dylan Mulvaney. And the entire trans insanity does NOT do any good to gays and lesbians, and many in those communities who are honest will tell you that they hate getting caught up in the trans stuff. That’s been a thing for decades actually.
That the percentage of ‘gay’ high schoolers has gone from 10% or whatever to 30% or whatever is not a naturally occurring event in my view, but an ‘algorythym plant’ if you will; essentially they are products of a well-planned mind-control operation run mostly via social media, coming to them via the cell phones they willingly carry everywhere.
Anyway, file this post in your WHY TRUMP WON file. Most Americans prefer to live in reality.
Here is the ‘woman’ posing as a girl   (Trans-cult members: “This is a woman damnit!  And you better not MISGENDER this sex-offending child-predator! For that is the true crime in all of this don’t ya know!”)
www.kgw.com/article/news/crime/albany-woman-sentenced-posed-as-teen/283-120968a8-463e-4579-8367-e472758990b1
In my view, this world would be a better place if all of the folks at the “Hand’s Off” protests… Hey, wait a minute! Where was a HANDS OFF protest during the ‘covid’ fascism under Biden? Nope, when Dems are in power those blinded by blue QUICKLY TURN INTO FASCISTS, as we saw with ‘covid’, and they demanded that we let them put their fascistic HANDS ALL OVER THOSE OF US who elected not to shoot mRNA frankenjunk from Musk’s bigtechfarma friends, saw that masks don’t work and rightly refused to wear them, and who opposed them masking our children at skool for months and months (SHAME ON YA’LL BIG TIME FOR SCREWING WITH THE CHILDREN) etc. etc. etc.
Below is a great article on how societal mind-control works, a la Brave New World and 1984, just as we saw it during the reign of whomever was running the Biden admin, because every honest American knows Joe and his auto-pen were NOT MAKING ANY DECISIONS. (It was Clinton/Obama/Blinken/Netanyahu/Mossad/Rothschilds/CIA).
Can Trump and Musk use this mechanism for their own societal mind-control/perception-of-reality-control? Absolutely! But it you don’t take the time to see how “Biden” used it on you, you won’ see it when Trump and Musk are doing the same.
Wanna turn 30% of an entire generation of children gay or trans? Wanna do some other type of societal-control/mind-control/perception-control/reality-control? Do what the billionaires do:
