Roll for initiative! A Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game summer camp for kids is gearing up for adventure June 29-July 3rd.
D&D Diversions will be a day camp for children age 12 and older to create their own characters and cooperatively participate in popular role-playing games (RPGs) with other children in a fun, safe, welcoming environment.
“We take anyone that can be kind at the table and wants to be there,” Camp Director Tiffany Craft said.
Four years ago, Craft helped begin a Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) club at her son’s middle school and it has grown to include 28 children.
“We kind of resemble the island of misfit toys because we get so many different types of kids that would have never spoke otherwise suddenly searching for treasure together or saving the day together,” Craft said. “Kids that don’t have a voice anywhere else get to be in control of their characters and escape their daily drama to just play.”
Rust&Stardust Society, in which Tiffany Craft is partnering with Patrick Heelan providing gaming opportunities to interested folks ranging from birthday parties to the D&D Diversions summer camp. Craft is currently working with her favorite game master Heelan to offer a dozen different RPG options, of which D&D is one of.
“Whether you have never played before but always wanted to or you are rusty and haven’t dusted off your dice in decades,” Craft said, “We are ready to game with you.”
