My Dear Friends,
“Third Sundays at 5PM” is our longest-running event. We’ve been here more than five years, so that’s nearly sixty pinball tournaments, sixty winners, and sixty token-filled trophies, each topped with a pinball taken from one of our games.
And sixty months is how long it took me to arrive at a realization, which is this: I don’t actually care very much who is Best At Pinball. Oops!
There are some who do. There are folks who would miss the competitive aspect of our “Third Sundays” series. I do want to continue to serve them.
But I also particularly want to invite you especially, to play pinball with someone you don’t know, in a space where everyone is welcome and cared for, no matter their difference. So pinball on third Sundays at 5 PM is still a thing, but we’re going to be experimenting with the format and I am asking for your help. If you have some time to invest in helping to conceptualize, plan, and/or (most especially) lead our monthly event, I invite you to get involved and join our brainstorming team. We will be open on Sept 20 until 8 or 9PM for everybody, with or without a formally organized event depending on what ideas develop. (Those who arrive will be free to organize their own activities or friendly competitions on the spot.)
And since you have read this far (thank you!), I’ll just mention a couple more things. I’m inviting you to host an event for your community at North Coast Pinball. It costs less than you may think. Text me at 503-343-4783 and I’ll fill you in. Plus I’m also in touch with someone who is looking at starting a local chapter of Belles & Chimes, an inclusive pinball club by and for women and femmes. If you would like to be involved with this, I would love to get you introduced to them.
