On Saturday, August 22, we would love for you to join us for a summer concert with the wonderful Red Yarn, right here on our forest campus.

If you have not yet met Red Yarn, you are in for a treat. Andy Furgeson, the Portland-based performer behind the red beard, blends folk, rock and roll, and a cast of handmade puppet “critters” into a show that has families singing and dancing together. He has played festivals from Austin City Limits to Pickathon, and his albums have earned some of the top honors in family music. Best of all, his music carries the same spirit we cherish at Fire Mountain: curiosity, community, and pure joy.

Here is what to know:

When: Saturday, August 22, at 4:00 p.m.
Where: Fire Mountain School
Tickets: All kids attend free. Adult tickets are $25, available here: www.firemountainschool.org/store/p15/Red_Yarn_at_FMS.html

Bring your own picnic and make an afternoon of it.

Every ticket supports our programs and our students. Fundraising covers about a third of what it takes to run our school each year, and community gatherings like this one help us keep the magic alive for the children who learn and play in these woods.

Bring your family, bring your neighbors, spread out a blanket, and celebrate summer with us. We cannot wait to see you there.
