Manzanita Development Company Is At It Again

If you’ve been around the public bathrooms recently and looked at the wall, you might have noticed the planning commission will soon be voting to approve another subdivision in the Highlands development.

From my understanding, the planning commission will vote to recommend the development (or not) and the city council will vote on the matter at a later date. I have doubts that either council will vote against this development, as the previous 70-acre development was approved unanimously at both meetings, but the citizenry can at least give their thoughts on the matter.

I, as a nature-loving person, will be sending the commission my criticisms of the development and I hope others will as well. If you care about free and open natural spaces; if you think animal habitat matters; if you think nature has substance, let the developers, commissions, and councils know that you oppose them turning it into vacation homes, roads, and parking spots for rich out-of-towners. The land is far more valuable than all that.

For further details, go visit the public bathrooms.

Thanks!
