Cannon Beach Library Launches $1,000 Centennial Art Competition
Winning Design Will Become the Face of the Library’s 100th Anniversary Celebration
The Cannon Beach Library is inviting artists of all ages to help make history by creating the official artwork for our Centennial Celebration in 2027. The selected artist’s design will be featured throughout the library’s yearlong celebration, appearing on commemorative merchandise, promotional materials, and other Centennial events.
The competition is open to local and regional artists, with a $1,000 cash prize awarded to the winning entry.
Artists must create original work (no AI) inspired by the theme:
“Celebrating 100 Years… At the Heart of Cannon Beach.”
Designs may reflect the library’s rich history, our role as a community gathering place, the natural beauty of Cannon Beach, or the power of books, storytelling, and lifelong learning.
“This is a unique opportunity for an artist to leave a lasting mark on one of Cannon Beach’s most treasured institutions,” said Library Manager Jen Dixon. “The winning artwork will help tell the story of our first 100 years, while inspiring our next century of service.”
The winning design will be used on Centennial T-shirts, tote bags, posters, and other commemorative items, giving the selected artist’s work broad visibility throughout the celebration. The artist will also be recognized in library publications, on the library’s website, and during Centennial events. Submissions are due by September 1, 2026.
