The theme of the current Tillamook County Giving Guide is “Sowing Seeds of Love”.

Please check it out and give generously–sowing your own seeds of love.

The Giving Guide and detailed directories of the organizations can be found at www.northcoastbbq.com/local-resources/

The Giving Guide can also be found here:

Not every organization can afford a paid profile, which pays for the production. So there is a list of contact information for all in the back of the Guide.

Here are descriptions of several of those organizations:

One paragraph about your organization’s history/work:
New Discoveries Preschool is a cooperative preschool where children learn through play in a loving and positive environment. Both parent and child benefit from the co-op concept. Parents have an opportunity to share in their children’s first school experience and to help them take their first steps toward self-management and independence. Under the direction of an experienced teacher and with the help of caring parents, children explore and learn at their own pace from a variety of materials and activities in a safe, healthful, age-appropriate environment. New Discoveries is a parent-run co-op preschool for children ages 3-5 who enjoy learning through play! Our preschool curriculum also includes optional swimming lessons and fun, educational field trips. Our co-op setting fosters an interactive experience based on trust. Children learn best when they feel good about themselves, and we strive to make our preschool a place where everyone feels special.

Mission Statement: North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection (formerly known as Rockaway Beach Citizens for Watershed Protection) is a 13 year old grassroots organization. Our goal is to prevent logging and spraying in our drinking watersheds. Our mission is to raise awareness to accomplish this goal.

One paragraph about your organization’s history/work:
Our group started in Rockaway Beach after we began receiving notices that our drinking water contained toxic chemicals that violate EPA guidelines. We then realized that Jetty Creek, our watershed, was being aggressively logged and sprayed with pesticides. We have since learned that numerous other coastal communities have similar threats to their water sources. Now we have more than 1500 members who live in nearby coastal communities, and a new NCCWP chapter based in Astoria. Let’s all work together to ensure everyone has access to safe and abundant drinking water. Water first!
