FRIENDS OF NETARTS BAY – WEBS, HOSTS
THREE TIDEPOOL DISCOVERY DAYS IN THE MONTH OF JUNE

Join us on the beach for some great low tides this June, perfect for exploring and discovering the amazing creatures lurking at the water’s edge. Choose one day – or all three – on the beautiful beaches in Oceanside.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community, friends, and family as you enjoy the beauty of Oceanside’s amazing tidepools. We hope to see you on the beach June 16th from 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., the 17th from 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 18th from 8:30a.m. – 12:00 pm.

Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS staff, Oregon State Park Rangers, and volunteers will be on-site in the tidepools to share about the habitats along the coastal edge. Learn about the anemone clone wars, how a sea star eats, or how hermit crabs find their shelled homes. From seaweeds to sculpin fish, there is an amazing world to discover!

Details: Wear boots or bring a change of shoes. DO NOT WEAR flip-flops (they are never ideal for exploring tide pools). Be prepared for Oregon Coast weather.

This program involves walking on slippery and uneven surfaces, including rocks that may be covered in water, seaweed, and barnacles. We understand everyone learns and experiences the outdoors differently, and we strive to support everyone who is interested in attending our events! Please contact us in advance so we can do our best to accommodate your accessibility needs.
