2026 Summer Art Camp at the Cannon Beach Gallery: July 13–17, 2026

A full week of creativity, exploration, and hands-on artmaking for kids and teens! Students choose one morning class OR one afternoon class and stay with that class all week.

From watercolor painting and jewelry making to kawaii crafts, monster sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media exploration there’s something for every young artist!

MORNING CLASSES: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Creative Reuse Art Projects
with Loni Sanders | Ages 10–16+
Create mosaics and mixed-media collages using shells, driftwood, plastic, and other beach materials collected during a guided beach walk. Focus on imagination, upcycling, and nature-inspired creativity.

Kawaii! Fun Japanese-Inspired Beach Crafts
with Lori O’Neil | Ages 7–12
Make adorable origami, drawings, and clay miniatures inspired by Cannon Beach creatures and kawaii culture. Students create charms, magnets, jewelry, and decorations.

Intro to Watercolor
with Tom Grogg | Grades 3–12
Learn watercolor basics including blending, brushwork, and color mixing while creating expressive paintings.

Monster Makers: Found Materials Sculpture Workshop
with John Crockett Person | Grades 2+
Build imaginative monster sculptures using natural and recycled materials like twigs, bark, fabric, and found objects.

Painting Nature in Layers
with Keri Domer | K–4th Grade
Explore printmaking with gel plates, stencils, and layered compositions inspired by nature and storytelling.

Nature / Reclaimed Art Mixed Media
with Miss Karen | Ages 7+
Experiment with paint, ink, shells, driftwood, reclaimed wood, and found materials to create textured mixed-media artwork.

AFTERNOON CLASSES: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Jewelry Artistry: Exploring Different Materials
with Karin Hermansen | Ages 9+
Design and create jewelry using beads, wire, fabric, yarn, and paper while learning craftsmanship and design techniques.

Blast of Color & Fun
with Miss Karen | Ages 7–15+
A high-energy mixed media class exploring acrylics, watercolor, ink, resin, and bold creative expression.

Drawing with Gelli Plates
with Keri Domer | Grades 5–8
Create layered prints and vibrant compositions using Gelli plates and original drawings.

Monster Makers: Found Materials Sculpture Workshop
Afternoon Session | Grades 3+
An additional afternoon session of the popular monster sculpture workshop using recycled and natural materials.

Mixed Media Exploration
with Ben Rosenberg | Grades 2+
An immersive mixed media experience featuring watercolor, acrylics, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, and collaborative creative projects focused on self-expression and fun.
