COMBINE MONOTYPES! A few spots left for ‘Combine Monotypes’ at Pier 11 studios in Astoria coming soon March 21, 22, 2026!! Yes, a few weeks away! Ever wanted to create a suite of monoprints? Have no drawing experience? Never made a print before? Look no more! Come spend 2 days in March 21, 22 10am – 4pm in the most beautiful views from an artists studio in Astoria @pier11studio ! Seals will be bopping their heads out of the water from behind you to see your creations! This class will introduce you to the technique of collage monotypes using textured materials, leaves, and cut patterns. These prints will introduce you to the process of creating interesting and compelling printed images on a printmaking press. You will learn how to use a printmaking press, work with ink using rollers and brushes, prepare paper, and create a suite including ghost prints. We will be printing on various provided printmaking papers, and more. Students will leave with an understanding of various techniques overlapping painted marks, and textural surfaces to create an understanding of monotypes and monoprints.
