Coastal drinking watersheds are in peril. Recently, Jetty Creek and other coastal watersheds have experienced water shortages that are not due to lack of rain alone. Science now shows that forestry practices such as clear-cut logging and pesticides spraying can damage the quantity and quality of drinking water. Like other coastal communities, Rockaway Beach is now looking to acquire and manage its Jetty Creek watershed. To help us all understand what this entails, the NORTH COAST COMMUNITIES FOR WATERSHED PROTECTION is offering a three-part speaker series, SAFEGUARDING AND RESTORING DRINKING WATERSHEDS, supported by funding from the City of Rockaway Beach. This is the first event of the series.

You need not RSVP to attend, but it will help us plan if you do. Please go to healthywatershed.org to RSVP for in-person or online attendance. PLEASE JOIN US!
