Come out to Friday’s free concert, the headline event for the Gathering Celebration of Native American Heritage Month, featuring Blackbird with special guest Quiltman.
At the Coaster Theatre, the show begins at 7PM. Doors open at 6PM. The show will take us on a journey from traditional Native American music and flute and then join with more modern rock and blues.
Originally from Anchorage, Alaska and featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, Blackbird is a 6X Native American Music Award Winning band. Incorporating Native flute they describe the sound: “Alter-NATIVE” Rock Fusion. Blackbird has shared the bill with music industry giants like Wayne Newton, Jewel, Black Eyed Peas and Jason Mraz.
Opening the show is Quiltman, a Native singer, musician and activist from Warm Springs. He has performed with John Trudell and more.
