Unfortunately, three locations reported donation jar thefts or total donations would be even higher. We hope this mean-spirited behavior does not reoccur. Unfurl opted to not have a collection jar, instead donating $100.00! In total we have raised approximately $3,000.00 to help us offset expenses for the parade, this year calculated at $2,000.00. Some of those expenses included:
*Participation ribbons
*Artist fee for creating poster
*Printing of posters
*Printing poster art on shopping bags
*Volunteer lanyards
*Buttons from poster art
*Signs for Citizen of the Year vehicles
*Registration supplies
*General printing
*Banner printing
Some things are start-up costs and will not need to be repeated next year. Any funds left over will be held for the 2024 parade. Past parades have included entertainment, and if funds permit, we would like to return to this practice.
