Groundbuilding Event in Wheeler Marks First Construction on the Salmonberry Trail

Submitted By: denise4wheeler@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
History will be made this Saturday, July 12, as the City of Wheeler proudly hosts the first-ever groundbreaking and building event for the long-anticipated Salmonberry Trail. The celebration will take place at Wheeler Waterfront Park starting at 1:00PM, with community members, trail advocates, and elected officials gathering to kick off the transformation of an 80-mile rail corridor into one of Oregon’s most scenic and impactful trails.

The Salmonberry Trail, when completed, will span from Banks to Tillamook to Wheeler, linking the lush forests of the Coast Range to the stunning Tillamook Coast. Saturday’s event marks the first of construction begins on the trail—right here in Wheeler—making it a historic milestone for the entire region.

“This is more than just a groundbreaking,” said Wheeler Mayor Denise Donohue. “It’s the beginning of a trail that will connect towns, boost tourism, support small businesses, and preserve the natural beauty we’re so proud of. We’re honored to be the first community to put boots—and tools—on the ground.”

The event will include remarks from local leaders and dignitaries, including:

Mayor Denise Donohue (Wheeler)

Mayor Charles McNeilly (Rockaway Beach)

Caroline Fitchett, Executive Director of the Salmonberry Trail Foundation

Representatives from Tillamook County, Travel Oregon, Trailkeepers of Oregon, Cycle Oregon, and state and federal offices…

Community members are invited to attend the event, enjoy light refreshments, hear from local dignitaries, and take part in a day of celebration that includes live music, kids’ games, trail explorations, local vendors, and a community scavenger hunt. Attendees are encouraged to visit Wheeler’s charming shops and eateries while in town and share the experience using #SalmonberryTrail and #WheelerOregon.

“This trail represents the future of sustainable tourism and outdoor access in Oregon,” said Caroline Fitchett, Executive Director of the Salmonberry Trail Foundation. “We’re thrilled to begin this work with a town as passionate and community-driven as Wheeler.”

REAL ID: not needed to fly

Submitted By: bigbeach@gmx.com – Click to email about this post
The Drumf Admins Real ID effort seeks to finally complete a giant step toward the tech billionaire/banker objective of getting rid of cash and being in total control of our digital payments, which would also be 100% under their (CIA/Musk/Drumf/Blackrock) surveillance.

Real ID is planned to go all digital once enough Americans sign up/fall for the scam. It currently uses facial recognition when the photo is taken at the DMV.

YOU DO NOT NEED A REAL ID TO FLY: THAT IS A LIE FROM THE DRUMF ADMIN

The Real ID effort was started by Bush/Cheney after they and Israel flew planes into the World Trade Center towers and then blew up four of the towers. Most folks only remember that two World Trade Center towers fell; three fell into their own footprint, 1, 2 and 7, while building 6 had the roof blown in. The Mossad rigged the explosives. (I heard that 2nd hand in-person from a known journalist, and I believe him, and I don’t care if you don’t.) Then the pre-written 1,000 page Patriot Act, that so far has been mostly used AGAINST patriots, was passed after the CIA released anthrax in the offices of the two Senators opposing the act, Lehey and Daschle.

Real ID is pat of the anti-American patriot act from Bush/Cheney.

As far as flying commercially (private jets don’t count as there are different rules for the rich) a passport works.

Real ID is useless to cross any national border. Passports are here to stay until the billionaire criminals get their Global ID functioning.

But there is more to Real ID than flying. Famed puppy-killer DHS head Kristie Noam is pushing this anti-MAGA federal ID with lies. She is doing her part to complete the planned control grid for Drumf and her billionaire masters.

Do you know how we simply wave our cards or phones in front of a reader at stores? The plan is for a chip to be implanted in the skin between your thumb and forefinger, then you will simply wave that, no need for a phone that folks can forget, forget to charge, or don’t want at all.

Real ID will interface with the implanted-chip-tech.

Sweden has already developed and tested subdermal biometric ID markers meant to be inserted in your wrist which will act as Id, credit card, key and medical info: (ARE YOU UP TO DATE ON LARRY ELLISON and ELON’S MRNA GENE-THERAPY SCHEDULE? No? Well that’s why the chip’s not working! Go be a good American and get your shots from Elon! Then you can buy groceries again!)

And if you think folks wouldn’t require shots to get groceries, here is an open letter I wrote to Noam Chomsky, who advocated for that very thing!

smartfish.substack.com/p/letter-to-noam-chomsky

And here is an NPR article from 6 years ago, about Sweden’s implantable chips, which are already in thousands of people:

www.npr.org/2018/10/22/658808705/thousands-of-swedes-are-inserting-microchips-under-their-skin

This is Palantir 100%, the company started by the CIA under Bush/Cheney that is now targeting/has targeted children in Gaza for Israel and Biden and Drumf and has total control over Drumf’s/Musk’s implementation of A.I. in Oregon and every other state.

Wyden and Merkely know all of this and they don’t care, or at least haven’t said a word about any of it. They don’t work for Oregonians, they work for their billionaire masters and, more and more, for Israel.

Re homing Border Collie Australian Shepard Mix

Submitted By: ospreyzingaro@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
My apologies to the people who responded to this notice a few weeks ago. I came down with pneumonia and totally dropped the ball. Let’s try this again.
Three year old, 30-35 lb., spayed female Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix needs a loving home.
This sweet, friendly dog likes her stuffies and to play ball. Excellent in the house but does best with a run every day. Typical for her breed, sensitive to smells and sounds and very smart and trainable. Ready for leash training. Has lived peacefully with a cat. Might do best with a fenced yard and possibly another dog who could be a calming influence in new situations.
If you think you could provide a stable, loving home for her please call or text Sharon in Manzanita, 209 768-5377
I’m having trouble attaching a photo. Text me and I’ll gladly send you her photo.

Busy Isn’t a Badge. It’s a Burnout Trap

Submitted By: Optimalcoachingservices@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
What other cultures already know about self-care (and why we should too)

In America, we wear “busy” like a badge of honor.

Ask someone how they’re doing, and the answer is often a sigh followed by, “Oh, just so busy.” We equate packed schedules with purpose, exhaustion with productivity, and overwhelm with importance. Somewhere along the line, we started confusing being busy with being worthy.

But what if we’ve got it all backward?

The Culture of Constant Doing

Our country celebrates hustle. We glorify overwork, multitasking, and the idea that “rest is for the weak.” Social media feeds us highlight reels of 4 a.m. gym sessions, back-to-back meetings, side hustles, and endless to-do lists, all under the banner of ambition and success.

But look a little closer, and you’ll see the cracks: rising anxiety, chronic illness, emotional burnout, disconnection. We’re living in a society that’s sprinting toward burnout, and calling it achievement.

What Other Countries Get Right

Travel beyond U.S. borders and you’ll notice something radically different. In Spain, the afternoon siesta isn’t laziness, it’s rhythm. In Italy, a two-hour lunch with friends is not indulgent, it’s necessary. In Japan, forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) is considered a form of therapy. In Denmark, hygge, “the art of cozy contentment,” is practically a national value.

These cultures recognize that rest isn’t the reward after the work is done. Rest is part of the work. It fuels clarity, creativity, and connection. They’ve built this into their lifestyles, and their health and happiness reflect it.

What Self-Care Actually Means

Let’s be clear: self-care isn’t just bubble baths and scented candles. It’s learning to say no. It’s choosing presence over performance. It’s making space for movement, meals that nourish you, meaningful relationships, and yes, stillness.

You don’t need permission to slow down.

You need courage.

Because in a culture that tells you to go-go-go, choosing rest is rebellion. And rebellion, in this case, might just save your life.

Your Gentle Call to Action:

Take one thing off your plate this week and replace it with something that feeds your soul. A walk. A nap. A quiet meal. A deep breath.

And if you’re not sure where to begin, you’re not alone. I help women (and a few brave men) rewire their mindset around worth, wellness, and rest. If this article sparked something in you, let’s talk.

A Fresh Chapter for a local Nehalem Salon – Booth Opportunities for Independent Beauty & Wellness Pros

The former J. Marie Salon in Nehalem is beginning a new chapter as The Studio House & Co. — a warm, independent collective for professionals in hair, lashes, nails, tattoo artistry, and self-care.

As the new owner — and also the owner of Spa Manzanita — my goal is to offer a supportive, community-rooted space for independent self-care and wellness practitioners. This will be a sister space to the spa, with opportunities to collaborate and expand our offerings together.

We’re currently in a soft launch phase, with a full refresh still to come, and I’m looking for a few passionate, kind, and self-motivated professionals who want to grow their business in a beautiful, supportive and low-drama environment.

Highlights include:
• Flexible booth rental options
• A welcoming shared studio-salon space
• Optional support with phone, booking, and marketing
• Client perks at Spa Manzanita
• Centrally located in downtown Nehalem

If you’re looking for a fresh, thoughtful space to grow your work — or know someone who is — I’d love to start a conversation.

Warmly,
Maggie
