Critical environmental legislation proposed

Submitted By: bigbeach@gmx.com – Click to email about this post
Western Oregon (north coast, Willamette Valley) is a hotbed for aerial-spraying and other climate-engineering activities. The aeria- spraying is done by DARPA.

Not a fan of ICE? Trust me, look at DARPA (what you can find, much of what they do is in secret) and you will hate that agency even more. And they target everyone, not just folks living here unlawfully.

Perhaps Oregon Democrats can get off their partisan horses for just one moment and support this critical environmental legislation being proposed by a Congressional Republican? So far, not one democrat in Oregon government will even speak of the geo-engineering being done by the Drumf Admin, and Biden before that.

What could the motivation behind this bill be other than a clean environment, as God intended?

Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday Sept 12 from 12 – 5 pm at Nehalem Bay Fire & Rescue

Submitted By: VeldaRN@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Opportunity to Share an Important Gift:

There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, September 12 from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 pm at Nehalem Bay Fire & Rescue – Station 13. Address is on the attached flyer.

The Red Cross has over 135 years of experience providing humanitarian aid including more than 75 years of supplying blood to those in need. Each pint of blood they collect can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. What a great way to pay it forward and make an impact on people in our community and across the country.

We are Thankful to Partner with the American Red Cross in this important work. A good number of you are already routine donors, and THANK YOU!!

If you are able to Donate, please visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: NBFR to schedule an appointment.

If you would like to join the amazing Red Cross as a Volunteer, please contact the Red Cross at: www.redcross.org/volunteer/become-a-volunteer.html or call 1-800-733-2767 (1-800-RED Cross).

There are many ways you can help, but most importantly we hope you come out to donate at this or an upcoming Blood Drive in our area.

The reason I am sharing this email is because this Blood Drive was scheduled to be held in Manzanita, but that facility is not available. Chief Frank and the Nehalem Bay Fire & Rescue stepped in and has made their venue available for this drive (in addition to their regular Blood Drive schedule).
THANK YOU TO OUR PARTNERS ALWAYS!!

Thank You for your Consideration to Donate; it is truly Life Saving for So Many.

Sincerely,
Velda Handler RN

Birds of Tillamook County: Walk and Talk with Michael Krall – Registration is required.

Submitted By: vicky@netartsbaywebs.org – Click to email about this post
Join WEBS Board President, Michael Krall on Saturday, September 20th for an introduction to Tillamook County birds and birding. Starting with an optional, two hour, slow and easy bird walk, participants will scope out some of our Northwest feathered friends along inland trails and coastal shores. After the walk, the group will meet at the Netarts Community Club for an informative indoor presentation. Michael will share his photographs, some tips on where and when to bird in Tillamook County, and talk about some of the birds we can expect to see in these diverse habitats.

Michael birds and photographs extensively in Tillamook County, around Oregon, and beyond. He caught the birding bug starting with a Golden Eagle banding in central Oregon with his 8th grade science teacher some 60 years ago. Michael says “I have always been partial to woodpeckers” and in 2017 he made a book of photographs featuring all 22 woodpecker species found in the US and Canada. Now Michael is working on the 50 or so US warbler species and has just a few to go! “So many birds, so little time!”

We understand everyone learns and experiences the outdoors differently, and we strive to support everyone who is interested in attending our events! Please contact us in advance so we can do our best to accommodate your accessibility needs.

Registration is required. Learn more, get time and location and register for this event at:

A Beach Cleanup: Celebrating National Public Lands Day

Submitted By: vicky@netartsbaywebs.org – Click to email about this post
Celebrate National Public Lands Day by cleaning up the beach from Oceanside to Netarts with the Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS and Oceanside Action Partnership, Saturday, September 27th, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.!

WEBS and OAP will have welcome tables set up at The Schooner Restaurant and the upper parking lot at Oceanside Beach, so volunteers can choose where to start the day. “Let’s take this opportunity to clean up the beach with friends or family, or expand your community by teaming up with fellow volunteers,” says Marina Dreeben, WEBS stewardship coordinator. Marina goes on to add “In addition to cleaning up the beach, join us for a marine debris survey demonstration at The Schooner at 9:30am to learn how debris is monitored on the beach year-round, and how you can help!” In our efforts to reduce waste, instead of using plastic bags, please bring your own bucket to collect debris. There will be some extra buckets on hand if needed.

AND be sure to stick around after the cleanup for a special treat just for volunteers – The Schooner will be grilling up fresh oysters from Pearl Point Oyster here in Netarts to thank you for keeping our coastal ecosystems clean!!

As you head out to clean up or just explore, it is important to remember that ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water, keep your distance from marine mammals, and never turn your back on the ocean! If you find any hazardous material, please alert a staff member.

Advanced registration saves time but is not required. To register and read more about this event visit www.netartsbaywebs.org/events

wealth disparity

Submitted By: dwieb1@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hitting the headlines today is a story on hedge fund billionaire Ray Dalio and his association of wealth disparity to autocracy. Headlines also say he predicted the 2008 financial crisis, lending credibility to his opinions. Many headlines have a sensationalist tone. The Guardian is more reserved with “Rising inequality is turning US into an autocratic state, billionaire warns” and their article is an interesting read. Note: Dalio is apparently promoting his new book. I still think his point is correct and that it may be useful to review how FDR guided recovery from the wealth disparity of his time. (-Dave)

with Libby Golden Seaver, IIN Health Coach

Join us Monday September 8, 2025 from 2-4PM at Pine Grove Community House
225 Laneda Ave, Manzanita
Libby will present information about, and practical exercises to improve your lymph and fascia systems. Since the early 90’s, Libby has practiced and shared healing, as a licensed massage therapist, birth doula and now as a health coach focusing on living for longevity and anti-cancer lifestyles. Her own health challenges and career experiences culminated in her learning about the lymphatic system and fascia as key to supporting and healing our bodies.
Libby studied qigong and yoga in Seattle for over a decade. She discovered fascia flossing, which combined with the other modalities, brings freedom and joy to our dense bodies like nothing else. “It’s like giving yourself an expert led gentle but deep tissue massage.”
All are welcome.

Garage Sale Fundraiser Report

Howdy!
We are so grateful for the fantastic turnout to our garage sale to benefit the North County Food Bank. We raised $1,270 to be used where most needed by the Food Bank.

To the many generous people who took home treasures and paid just a wee bit extra, and to those who dropped a little something in the donation jar even if you didn’t find treasure – many thanks!

We also owe thanks to Bob, who organized the hardest part for us (the very messy garage), and to Erika, Jan, Jenny, Rob and Wendy who answered the call for tables to borrow. You embody the spirit of a sharing community.

And last, we sit in gratitude to the BBQ for supporting the North Coast’s communication needs for so many years!!

We couldn’t do without (any of) you.
