Join us at the Cannon Beach Library Saturday, August 5th at 2 p.m. for Find your Oregon, part of our summer reading special events. Children’s author and illustrator Andy Bauer of Portland will lead a story time and discuss his delightful book “ABC’s of Oregon.” Come learn about the geography of Oregon through letters and words. All ages are welcome!
Stay for a Q and A with the author. Signed books will also be available to purchase.

AUDITIONS FOR FRANKENSTEIN: THE RADIO PLAY!

NEW AND EXPERIENCED ACTORS ARE WELCOME!

Recreating the 1940s radio broadcast, watch and listen as the story comes alive on stage.

You must be able to perform your parts, but no memorization is required for this performance as all actors will work from the radio script on stage.

AUDITION DATES:

Thursday, August 3rd, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Saturday, August 5th, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Tuesday, August 8th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

AUDITION LOCATION: NCRD Performing Arts Center, 36155 9th Street, Nehalem, OR

REHEARSALS BEGIN: Sunday, August 13th, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

TECH WEEK: Oct. 16th – Oct. 19th. Dress Rehearsal is Wednesday, Oct. 18th

But when the creature is rejected by its creator and the world, it sets out on a path of revenge that will bring death and destruction to all who cross it.

This radio play is full of suspense, horror, and thought-provoking themes. It is a must-see for fans of classic literature and vintage radio drama.

Hey folks, we have another great free live music night coming up this Friday. We would like to introduce you to Sav Partridge, a talented young performer from Forest Grove. Here’s a bit about her in her own words:

“I’m a 23 year old musician from Forest Grove, Oregon. I’ve been playing music for the past ten years from small pubs to intimate cafes. I cover music ranging from country to pop, alternative to indie music. My shows include well known mainstream music, to some of my own personal favorites with original music in between.”

Let’s keep trying this in a small town/county, meeting once a week for a civil discussion. There will be a zoom meeting every Friday at 9AM and every Saturday at 10AM for “reds”, “blues”, and “in-betweens”. We’ve grown to a group of 8, but still limited to us 5 “blues” and “in-betweens”. We really would like some “reds” to join in. “Blues” sometime stereotype “others” as stupid and evil. It’s absolutely not the right thing to do, but sometimes it’s hard to stop unless “others” step up and represent themselves. Simple ground rules, 1. Everybody brings their best manners. 2. Nobody talks for more than 4 minutes at a stretch. 3. Nobody comes to win an argument or change somebody’s mind. 4. Listening is as important as speaking. Short-order experience is helpful for this fast-paced kitchen position. Breakfast experience is a huge plus but not required.

Duties include setting up and stocking food items and other necessary supplies. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces and cooking food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

Competitive wage based on experience, plus a share of the generous tip pool.
