The 2025-26 Giving Guide is out! The theme this year is “Sowing Seeds of Love”.

Please check it out and give generously–sowing your own seeds of love.

Not every organization can afford a paid profile, which pays for the production. So there is a list of contact information for all in the back.

The Giving Guide and detailed directories of the organizations can be found at www.northcoastbbq.com/local-resources/

Searching for laid back lowkey recording space/studio

Submitted By: kat4house@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello,

I am searching for a recording space/studio setup to record a music project here in the area (Astoria through Nehalem). I’m looking for something low key and that is not going to cost me a fortune. I’m open to a home or semi-amateur studio (if it’s for amateur price ^_^). I’ve already checked out the Rope Room in Astoria. Will eventually look at Portland options if necessary.

I think I would do this myself in my space but there are too many outside noises here. But I may experiment with recording in the middle of the night, but even still I don’t have a fancy setup other than my basic laptop — so would be open to offers of recording equipment as well.

Thank you for your time.

3 crab pots

Submitted By: shamantonycavalli@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I’m new to BBQ, so I could not get pictures to work. The 3 crab pots are 30″ in diameter by 10″. I was told that they are the like the ones in the hardware stores that sell for $110.
These were stored in a shed and have stainless steel wire that is in good shape, and each crab pot has a bait holder and a couple of floats and a rope that is about 50′ long.

Art in the Manzanita Library in January

Submitted By: susantone@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
NTLF Art in the Library Series is exhibiting abstract paintings by Nehalem Artist Lauren Oujiri for the month of January. Using nontoxic acrylics on recycled canvases for this display, Lauren decided to work with only five colors (without mixing them to make more), and enjoyed and learned from this challenge. She calls these contemplative pieces, invitations to let your mind wander, with some ocean and night/early morning influences.

Lauren is also a photographer and poet. She says, “living as an artist is an important way to express what I’m of, see, feel, and appreciate. Art invited me into a portal to make sense of the world and myself, to see the world (and myself) differently, and to bring beauty and meaning to our community, a place that thrives when art is abundant – and, gratefully, Tillamook County is abundant with art and artists for sure!”

Please stop by the Manzanita Library in January to see Lauren’s artworks. Art in the Library series is sponsored by the North Tillamook Library Friends.

New Year’s Eve Party at the Tie Breaker with N.E. Daynow!

Submitted By: nedaynowmusic@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
We have a couple of special musical guests joining the party! Help us welcome 2026 by staying up late and dancing your socks off at the Tie Breaker in Rockaway Beach! What better way to start a new year than to have fun with all your friends and get some exercise while you’re at it! We know that for some of you it’s past your bedtime, but once a year you can take a nap and stay up, and act up just like it’s 1999!

PROTEST in the NEW YEAR!

Submitted By: pattyrinehart@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Was going to start this note out with a “HAPPY NEW YEAR” and realized it is not the New Year yet. We want you to know the North County Resistance group will be in Nehalem on January 3rd from noon to 2 PM. Thanks to the so many people who came out this past week! We had quite a crowd there. 28 people showed up to PROTEST! Always a great group of people. The weather turned out to be nice after showers right before noon. Not sure we are going to get away with that this coming Saturday. Dress with your long underwear, layer up, hat, gloves, maybe a couple pairs of socks.

Most of the people at this protest agreed to write down a few of their thoughts about this past year and the coming year and our current government. I will work what I can into this message and the rest will be at the end of the week. Each comment is preceded by
