SoulCollage is a process for creating incredible collaged cards with deep personal meaning that will help you with life’s questions and transitions. The process is often used as a method of self-discovery and transformation.
First, you will be guided through the intuitive process of making your own SoulCollage® cards. Then you will gather in small groups and learn how to read the cards by giving voice to the images. This is where the process which begins as simple creative fun, might suddenly surprise you!
This is a multi-layered creative process that anyone can do. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Carolyn Greenwood has been a SoulCollage facilitator since 2015

This Saturday, January 13th, at the Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church.
Breakfast is served from 9 til noon in the Fellowship Hall.
The normal suspects on your plate will be eggs, sausage, French Toast with all the Berry Compote you can imagine. OJ and coffee, too.
The suggested donation is $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
Proceeds will help feed the shut ins that get regular meals and others who are able to stop in on Tuesdays and Thursdays for lunch. Those lunches are served for $5 each but no one is turned away.
Come get a great breakfast and help support folks in our community who may not be getting good regular meals.

REPAIR CAFE IS ON THE ROAD – A REPAIR ROADSHOW ?
Heart of Cartm encourages reusing and repairing. At a Repair Cafe, expert fixers work together to keep your valuable resources out of the landfill. This month’s Repair Cafe will be held at NCRD on January 13th, 3-5pm. (If weather conditions allow!)
If you have an item in need of repair, please sign up. www.heartofcartm.org/repaircafe
We are currently seeking a stable place in North Tillamook County to host 1-2 monthly Repair Cafes. Ideally, this would also be a safe space to leave 5 tables and a few shelves of tools. Please reach out to Jessi, if you have connections to such a place.

I want to give a huge shout out to Manzanita’s legendary ‘dog whisperer’ Ginger Matyas.
We have used her services several times while away from home & we all know the stress of leaving them behind. Ginger not only took excellent care while visiting our 3 cats several times a day to feed, empty litter boxes but the play time was unique. She brought in crepe paper, sprinkled with catnip, lots of kitty toys & actively played & stimulated them. The follow up videos she sent to us were awesome as one of our cats whom is antisocial to begin with, was chasing around through the scattered papers, jumping in the air after flying feathers & sitting on her lap. Such a welcoming site when so far away from home. Everything was cleaned & vacuumed before our return as if nothing had taken place. She did ask first if this was ok! They were very happy babies during our absence!
Equally our dogs were also taken care of by Ginger over the holidays & it’s not about just walking them that amazed us with her services, she actively engages them in physical play time, fun exercise & healthy treats.
Ginger has massive compassion & knowledge in this industry so don’t miss out on asking her about any concerns, she has you covered!
I also just added her as an additional service to our Airbnb rental & it has had tremendous support from visiting guests! Thank you Ginger for all you do for our pets in our small community. Grateful

The journey begins tomorrow—let’s make 2024 your year.

It is worrisome that 3 city councilors have resigned as well as our mayor
in years ’22-’23. We now have an unrepresentative government. One wonders how these appointed people represent the people. The city charter should be updated. The city councilors and Mayor should be elected by the community and the voters decision honored. Where is the integrity of the city councilors and city manager?
The public STILL needs to know findings of the employee complaint investigation and the legal costs to the community. It appears $24,000 have been spent on this investigation in the last month. (December expenses) We need answers to this investigation.
The Mayor’s Monday meetings were innovative, well attended and valuable to the community. The city councilors thought so too by following suit.
The Mayor opened up the planning commission appointment process to be more fair and transparent, even receiving praise from chair of the planning commission.
I appreciated the Mayor’s efforts to be responsible about the budget.
The hostile behavior of the council and city manager have cost the community financially. You have also lost our trust and our willingness to participate in this hostile environment.
I hope that the damage can be repaired.

Friends of NCRD (North County Recreation District) regrets that we must stop our plastic recycling project until we can recruit more volunteers to bag, weigh, and deliver the plastic to Fred Meyer’s in Tillamook.
Meanwhile, you may not be aware that all Fred Meyer’s and Safeway stores have collection bins for soft film plastic so you will be able to take your small bag of bags there when you shop.
Friends of NCRD started this project in cooperation with the Trex Company several years ago. For each 500 pounds of soft film plastic collected and delivered for recycling, the company provided us, as a non-profit organization, an outdoor bench. To date, we have received and installed 4 benches a at NCRD and we have also earned a fifth bench not yet ordered. Thanks to all who have participated!
If you are interested in helping maintain the plastic recycling project, please contact Gail Young, Friends of NCRD board Secretary. gailmyoung@mac.com

For the past year ++ I have been renting a wonderful light filled, furnished, Arch Cape Cottage with a view of the sea.
It’s a true slice of heaven & safe haven. From a large picture window you can see the Milky Way by night & great pacific by day. 5 minute walk to the sand. Easy access to Cannon beach & Manzanita.
I’m building a small new home that is 3-4 months out before I can possibly occupy it. But my finances are tight so I’m looking to share this little cottage these last few months……. then you can have it all to yourself.
Currently offering for rent a generous furnished bedroom with private bath, shared laundry & common living space for 750$ a month.
The cottage is located on the owners property but detached offering plenty of privacy. The owners are active, kind, straight shooting, salt of the earth kinda people who often share their gardens bounty from summer bumper crops.
While I’ll do the initial phone interviews & showings. You will also need to meet the owners because it’s ultimately up to them who will be taking full occupancy of the cottage when I leave in a few short months.
A Great rental place for daily living or regular weekend get aways.
Blessings – Karen
