Making Visible the Invisible: A Community Conversation about Death and Dying. Applying the values of Acceptance, Belonging, Connection, and Legacy, Death Cafe is a co-generational gathering that aims to create a comfortable and open space for people to gather and discuss topics related to death, dying, and mortality, and all that it is to be human, navigating the most profound transition of our lives. It provides a platform for individuals to share their thoughts, fears, and experiences surrounding death in a supportive, non-judgmental, and safe environment. Adhering to Death Cafe’s mission, participation is free, although contributions to the Collective are accepted to cover cafe costs.

This open format Q&A starts at 10:30am and wraps up at 12:30. They will be there to hear your thoughts and opinions and answer any questions about middle housing and what it means for our city.

This week’s music is a second appearance by local band Mercury Coast. We loved their original music, beautiful harmonies, and tight rhythm section a few weeks ago. We’re happy to have them back!

The Hoffman Center will be joining us with some interactive kids’ activities. We also have a special appearance by Visions Face Painting, who join us for 2 weeks each summer. Our usual face painters, Goldea and Shirl, will be switching gears and offering fortune telling this week instead! With a bit cooler day in the forecast, it will be a lovely week to hang out at the market.

I’ve recently had the privilege of working with Viridian on 2 affordable housing projects in our community. They are skilled, responsive, and fun to work with.
