Lost Pics and Docs? Try Recovery Scans

Submitted By: nehalembayexperience@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Can’t access those great pics on your cam SD chip? Can’t access those docs and back-up files on your Flash/Thumb Drive? Can’t get those old programs and system files off your external Hard Drive? Your storage device may be corrupted. I use 3 different professional recovery programs to scan devices and recover their data. Of the 237 devices I have scanned 218 were successful in pulling files. The cost to run a scan set is $10 per device, which if files can be recovered is applied to the $25 recovery fee for SD and Flash Drives and the $35 for external hard drives. The process is easy and local (Bayside Gardens, Nehalem). Drop me an email and we will search for those hidden files. Thanks, Drew.

Tool Kit for Immigrant Rights

Submitted By: pattyrinehart@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Being a little behind in my reading over the past few days I got to the Daily Astorian from Tuesday, December 24, 2024. A front-page article with the headline of “Tool kit to protect immigrant rights” caught my eye. To paraphrase part of the article “Oregon AG Rosenblum promotes legal safeguards, with a toolkit intended to inform immigrants as Oregon braces for likely increased federal immigration activity after President -elect Donald Trump takes office in January”. This toolkit is online
www.doj.state.or.us/media-home/news-media-releases/oregon-ag-rolls-out-new-sanctuary-promise-community-toolkit-as-a-resource-for-all-oregonians-to-understand-sanctuary-laws-and-access-resources/

I know not everyone has access to online documents, but I will do my best to download some information in both English and Spanish. There are other languages you can also download: Urdu, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Russian, and Mandarin. I am also asking you to download some and post in places where you think people will pick them up.

Happy New Year,
Patty Rinehart

ISO – Old School Sewing machine

Submitted By: Artwithmisskaren@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
A few years back my old Brother sewing machine
I had for over 30 years died. I shopped for a new machine but was intimidated by all the new fangled switches, buttons and inserts. I guess old habits die hard.
I really just need an old sewing machine that goes forward & backwards really.
I’m needing to make new pillow covers and curtains for my little house I just moved in.

I’m an art teacher so I can trade art lessons and I have a selection of high end upholstery fabric I can also trade that I won’t be using.

Just putting it out there. Hope everyone has a great holiday season and that this new year brings peace of mind and good health to everyone.

News from the Nehalem Bay Health District

Submitted By: marc@nehalembayhd.org – Click to email about this post
The Amazing Generosity of a Former North Coast Resident

The Nehalem Bay Health District is the recipient of a remarkable $250,000 gift

This is the story of the kind and generous man who made it possible

Fred Cornforth led an amazing, impactful life. Fred, who lived in Boise, Idaho until his untimely death earlier this year at 64, also had a home for some time on the north coast. Fred, his wife and family loved the area as so many of us do.

Over the course of his working life Fred built a hugely successful non-profit company that he formed in the 1990’s to build affordable housing projects in nearly 20 states. And he gave back – in a very big way, funding food banks, dental clinics, homeless shelters and orphanages.

When Fred learned about the Nehalem Bay Health District’s plans to upgrade health and senior care and address workforce housing here on the north coast he immediately wanted to help, and he certainly did.

Late in 2023, through his non-profit company, Fred committed $250,000 to the Health District to use to advance its projects, as Fred said, “in any way that will do the most good.”

Fred’s pledge included donating half of his remarkable gift during 2024 with the remainder in 2025.

Every dollar from an individual gift or a foundation grant directed toward the Health District’s priorities makes a huge difference, ensuring that projects to improve local health and senior care and develop workforce housing are fully funded and will be successful over the long term.

The impact of Fred’s generosity is extraordinarily valuable to the Health District’s projects because the unrestricted nature of his gift allows the District to stretch local bond funding even farther.

Sadly, Fred Cornforth died in March 2024 after a courageous, inspiring battle with glioblastoma, a particularly awful form of brain cancer. His family and legion of friends continue to have the heartfelt condolences of all of us associated with the Nehalem Bay Health District, as well as our enduring thanks.

True to his word and totally in keeping with his compassionate generosity, the first half of Fred’s pledge – a check for $125,000 – arrived right around Thanksgiving.

RIVERBEND PLAYERS COMMUNITY THEATER LETTER OF THANKS

Submitted By: fsquillo@riverbendplayers.org – Click to email about this post

To our Cherished Riverbend Community,

Thank you from all of us at Riverbend Players. Thank you for making our recent production of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” a success and a truly historic one.

We are thrilled to announce that this production has become the most successful “radio play” we have ever presented – a milestone we could never have reached without your unwavering support.

We knew it was a special project when we once again brought this timeless story to the stage in this unique format. But the outpouring of enthusiasm and the heartfelt feedback we received has been truly overwhelming.

Your presence in the audience and the laughter, tears, and shared experience of this classic tale made each performance magical. You embraced the spirit of Bedford Falls and reminded us all of the importance of community, kindness, and the profound impact one life can have.

This production of “It’s a Wonderful Life” caps off another fantastic year for Riverbend Players. From productions of “Crimes of the Heart,” “The Play That Goes Wrong,” and “The Girl on the Train,” to our workshops and volunteer programs, and now this record-breaking production, we have been so fortunate to share so many wonderful moments with you.

Your continued support allows us to bring quality theatre to our coastal community, to provide opportunities for local artists, and to enrich the lives of everyone who walks through our doors.

We are deeply grateful for your patronage, enthusiasm, and belief in live theatre’s power. You are the heart and soul of Riverbend Players, and we are so proud to share this success with you. We look forward to bringing you engaging, thought-provoking, and entertaining productions in the future.

Thank you again for making “It’s a Wonderful Life” a truly unforgettable experience and making this another truly successful year for Riverbend Players.

With sincere gratitude,

Frank Squillo
President, Riverbend Players Community Theater

Looking for on call babysitter

Submitted By: kat4house@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hi I’m helping a single dad of 4 find a babysitter. He is on call for Pacific Seafood during strange hours — 430 PM – 3 AM. He is a full time RVer with his 4 little ones all under 9. He and his ex had a breakup a couple months ago and she split so he needs help with the babysitting.

You’ll have to negotiate with him the prices. I am helping him until January.

Sweet family and the dad is desperate to find a safe place for his kids. He is not opposed to the babysitter staying in their RV but it might be easier to babysit at your own residence. The kids sleep early so you’d only need to be fully present the first couple of hours of the shift.

Please email me then I’ll give you his #.

Thank you.
