The speed and width of this data wave has overrun what is the equivalent of ergonomics; designs scaled to fit a human body. Accepted ideas often had to earn their place, giving humans and all their constructs time to assimilate them. Not now. To consider, research, and embrace even one new concept can be tricky to say the least. We need internal tools to help us not just cut a bowline but rather slip it to another cleat, lest we find ourselves adrift.
Presented in these two short videos is an idea that has been hovering in the wings of earth science for decades but is taking flight because the gadgets and explorations have yielded enough facts to bubble up through the conventional view. In the spirit of expanding ones perspective and consciousness, enjoy these short presentations on the ” Expanding Planet Earth”. Oh yeah, it’s controversial, but then, Galileo would have something to say about controversial concepts, right?
Quick note: Neal Adams, (first short), is a renowned artist, responsible for the early genesis of Marvel and other comics. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neal_Adams

Happy New Year—see you soon.

So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night. And He led me towards the hills and the breaking of day in the lone East.
So heart be still:
What need our little life
,Our human life to know,
If God hath comprehension?
In all the dizzy strife
Of things both high and low,
God hideth His intention.
God knows. His will Is best. The stretch of years Which wind ahead, so dim To our imperfect vision, Are clear to God. Our fears Are premature; In Him, All time hath full provision.
Then rest: until
God moves to lift the veil
From our impatient eyes,
When, as the sweeter features
Of Life’s stern face we hail,
Fair beyond all surmise
God’s thought around His creatures,
Our mind shall fill

I originally purchased this from Kitchen in Portland, then it was replaced by the Omega corporation (issue covered by warranty). So, this machine is new to me since 2022. It is in excellent condition (made in Korea). It is taking a large chunk of my small kitchen counter space, however, while I am not juicing much these days. It needs to move on and make an awesome start for 2025 for someone else!
As it is a “nutrition system,” it does a lot more than juice. It makes an “ok” nut butter (I have used it for that), excellent sorbet (that really is fantastic but it is a long time until summer:) and, apparently, pasta (I have never tried that as I do not eat pasta:)).
Please give it some love. I used it yesterday, just for fun and to use up fresh cranberries I had sitting in the fridge – the “in action” picture is from yesterday (cranberry, ginger, apple juice – yum!). The picture with the user manual and extra parts is from today. Most of the extra parts happen to be brand new – as I mentioned, I never used/ tried the pasta making attachments and the juice/ pulp collection bowls are also brand new (I always used my own glass containers).
Here is a link to this machine on Amazon so that you can research it further as you like. https://www.amazon.com/Omega-NC800HDS-Wheatgrass-Masticating-Dual-Stage/dp/B00CIU93TE
Happy Holidays with a Fresh Start!

The NBWC’s Annual Meeting will start at 5 pm. The Annual Meeting consists of board elections, selection of board officers, and the Annual Report. All members are welcome to attend to vote in board elections. The Annual Report will be a summary of council activities in 2024 including progress reports on restoration designs, planting projects, and regional collaborations. It’s been a busy year for the council so we hope you’ll come early to learn about what we’ve been up to.
In 2019 residents along West Fork Coal Creek contacted the NBWC with concerns about an area of erosion that was threatening their access road. Executive Director Zac Mallon visited the properties and determined that this was a situation where fish habitat and protecting infrastructure could overlap. So, with support from Troy Laws at ODFW and funding from the Wild Salmon Center, an instream wood placement project was planned for West Fork Coal Creek to both protect vulnerable infrastructure and to improve habitat conditions for the 5 species of salmonids that utilize West Fork Coal Creek. The structures were installed in the summer of 2020.
The documentary is a series of interviews with ED Zac Mallon and with landowners during and immediately after project implementation. It takes the viewer through the experience of having a wood placement on their property including discussions of habitat and infrastructure benefit, connections to natural processes like landslide and windstorms, and the honest experiences of the landowners during and immediately after the project was implemented. This is a great documentary for anyone hoping to learn more about salmon habitat or about the experience of having a wood placement on their own property.
Both the Annual Meeting and the presentation will be hosted on Zoom and are free to the public. The zoom link is tinyurl.com/bdjeckb9 or on the Faceboook event at www.facebook.com/nehalembaywc. You can also contact the watershed council at info@nehalemwatershed.org.

Hello Neighbors,
Giving away a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fnw (from around 2018) for free. If you’re interested, please reach out via email at tx.speterson@gmail.com.
Important Notes:
The printer has a few issues: When printing in color, it leaves magenta streaks on the page. The printout is still legible but not ideal.
Black & white prints work better.
There is some wear and tear on the front of the printer, including scuffs, blemishes, and marks from regular use.
Ink cartridges still have a long life.
