The 2025-26 Giving Guide is out! The theme this year is “Sowing Seeds of Love”.

Please check it out and give generously–sowing your own seeds of love.

Not every organization can afford a paid profile, which pays for the production. So there is a list of contact information for all in the back.

The Giving Guide and detailed directories of the organizations can be found at www.northcoastbbq.com/local-resources/
The Giving Guide can also be found here: www.tillamookcountypioneer.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Giving-Guide-2025-26_Final_Spreads-2.pdf

WITH GRATITUDE: A COMMUNITY THANK YOU FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAY WONDERTHON!

Submitted By: fsquillo@riverbendplayers.org – Click to email about this post

Dear Cast, Crew, Volunteers, Sponsors, Advertisers, NCRD, and Our Incredible Community,

As the curtain closed yesterday on THE HOLIDAY CHANNEL CHRISTMAS MOVIE WONDERTHON, I want to take a moment, on behalf of Riverbend Players Community Theater, to say thank you!

This production was something truly special.

Because of the talent on stage, the dedication behind the scenes, and the overwhelming support from our audiences, THE HOLIDAY CHANNEL CHRISTMAS MOVIE WONDERTHON broke both attendance and box office revenue records and is now the most attended production in Riverbend Players’ history, beating out the previous record holder, A CHRISTMAS STORY, from two years ago.

That distinction belongs to every actor, set designer, stage manager, stage hand, lighting and audio operator, volunteer, and patron who showed up, leaned in, laughed loudly, and made this experience unforgettable.

From the first rehearsal to the final bow, this show was powered by collaboration, generosity, flexibility, and a shared sense of joy. The cast brought heart, humor, and fearless commitment. The crew and volunteers worked tirelessly to make the magic seamless. And our community filled the house night after night, reminding us exactly why local theater matters.

I also want to briefly acknowledge the generosity shown through our charity raffle. Together, we raised $5,520 to support the North County Food Bank and the Nehalem Bay Community Services food pantry. The whole story of that effort will be shared separately, but please know how meaningful that impact truly is.

Riverbend Players exists because of people who believe in creativity, connection, and community, and this production was a shining example of all three!

Thank you for your time, your talent, your trust, and your support. This was a milestone moment for our theater group, and I am deeply grateful to have shared it with all of you.

With pride and appreciation,

Frank Squillo
Director, The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon
President, Riverbend Players Community Theater

We meet either in person or by zoom on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm at NCRD, 36155 Ninth St. in Nehalem.

The book that accompanies the topics is $35 (arriving later this month or early January) at the NCRD Welcome Center, Monday through Friday from 8am till 5pm. We will be starting the discussions in mid January.

The public is welcome.

Visit Tillamook Coast Small Businesses

Submitted By: dan@tillamookcoast.com – Click to email about this post
We’ve had some rough winter weather recently. Thankfully, the floods have subsided and Highway 101 is open as normal. Highway 26 remains open and Highway 6, though down to one lane in spots, is open as well.

All of this crazy weather comes at a time of year where our county’s small businesses are gearing up for a busy Holiday season. It has thrown a wrench in what is typically busy season for them. With that in mind, I have a favor to ask.

Please get out and support our many small businesses – from Manzanita to Neskowin – this Holiday season. Shop for gifts, dine out, enjoy local scenery and attractions. And share the message that we are open and accessible.

Shopping locally is a fantastic way to support friends and neighbors and share your love of our many special communities and the small businesses that call them home.

With gratitude,

Dan Haag

The film features north coast locations, as well as some local actors.

The film has had a hard time finding distribution, and I think my prior film may have something to do with it:

Besides delivering plenty of power for most homes this generator starts with a key and is very quiet and efficient especially in Eco-Mode which senses demand and adjusts automatically.

It was $2,000 new in June and has been maintained and runs perfectly.

I will deliver but please note it does not have the optional wheel kit.

Happy Solstice

Submitted By: barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
“A little known fact about the Winter Solstice is that the Bee Hive comes back to life on this exact date. Even in complete darkness, after a winter surviving the cold, the Queen Bee senses when the Winter Solstice occurs by detecting the shift in electromagnetic energy from the Sun. At this moment, she instructs her workers to raise the temperature of the hive from its winter 75 degrees to 95 degrees—the exact temperature she needs to start laying her eggs for the Spring. The synergy of the hive working in unison creates a field of regeneration at the exact moment of the Winter Solstice—a lesson of renewal and rebirth in our own lives. “ (the Source of Synergy Foundation)
SYNERGY — working together– the power of the whole is greater than the parts. This is what we are learning: each person is transformed into something more powerful than they would be alone. In the Kabbalah the energy that arises from the transformation of uniting with others is called “Glory.” (wonder if that is where Glory Bee Honey’s name comes from) Let us use the wisdom of the Bees in uniting for the forest, for the waters, for the earth… for the well being of people, animals, and plants. Feel the energy revving up on the Winter Solstice!”
Gwendolyn Endicott

May the returning light fill us all with renewed vision.
Happy Solstice
