looking for a small, cozy place to rent

Submitted By: croweanne70@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello, everyone!
I’m looking for a small, cozy place to rent in or near Seaside, starting early May.

I have two sweet, well-behaved senior dogs, so pet-friendly is needed.
Just looking for something simple and comfortable, — a studio, 1-bedroom, or small cottage would be perfect.
If you know of anything available or have any leads, feel free to message me.

I work locally, am looking forward to settling in, getting involved with my new community, doing volunteer work and making Seaside home.

Thanks so much!

~Jody

Civic Saturday Sermon

Submitted By: codger817@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Join us Saturday, April 12 at 10 am for Tillamook County’s version of “Civic Saturdays” with Jim Heffernan hosting. The sermons explore new and better ways to be a citizen. They are aimed at developing “citizenship muscle. We will need “muscle” to bring power back to “We the People”, where it belongs. Each sermon functions as a stand-alone sermon. Don’t worry about missing earlier sessions.
This week’s sermon , number 12 of 19, is “The Citizen Artist” and is 31 minutes long. It will explore six ways the citizen can use artistic expression to develop a stronger civic union. We can talk about the sermon afterwards, or not.

Blenko – hand blown pitcher/art glass

Submitted By: Artwithmisskaren@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hand blown, limited edition art glass pitcher by Blenko. $65
This emerald & brown beauty was bought in early 2000’s at a Blenko exhibition OPB in PDX after glass maker was featured in a program. I purchased 3 pieces at the show and remember it was just under $1,000.
It’s a heavy duty, one of a kind piece as no blown art glass can ever be duplicated perfectly in model or color. I downsized and thought I’d use this in my new little house. It’s been unpacked for a year only gets dusted. Truth is, I’ve had 6 surgery’s on my left hand and wrist with diminished function. my hand isn’t working well enuf to bear the weight and control pour.
It’s still got original identification sticker and signed on the bottom. I couldn’t find anything exactly like it on the Internet but found some close in size and style.
I thought I’d try here locally before hitting Craig’s list for the sale. Offering at 65$ to a local person who understands and would enjoy this functional piece of glass art in their home for daily use or special entertainment. Even as a flower vase really.

Manzanita supports quality of life infrastructure

Submitted By: dwieb1@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I believe Manzanita is on track to making improvements that will promote quality of life here. Change is never easy to deeply ingrained expectations, but the (industry-promoted) supremacy of car travel to the detriment of all other forms of mobility has resulted in many negative impacts. Though determining to break our habits is understandably difficult, I think Manzanita’s new 20mph limit is one step in the right direction. More to come I hope, and just the beautiful environment should help make it easier to accomplish.
