Seeking Watercolor Instruction

Submitted By: candi.merrill@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello All,
I did watercolor painting about 30 years ago and loved it but then life got busy and I put it aside. Now that I’m retired, I want to pick it up again but it seems I’ve forgotten everything I ever knew about watercolor. If there is anyone in the community that would be willing & able to give a few lessons to get me started again, please get in touch! Thank you.

KITES

Submitted By: salmonberrywheeler@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Got Kites in your attic, closet or barn that you purchased from DK Smith or John & Lisa Fraser at Once Upon A Breeze Kiteshop in Cannot Beach in the 1970s-1990s? Earlier? Maybe from that ashram or trip to Wiefang? Back before cell phones and social media? Seeking single line provenance: Hi-Flier, White Bird, Sun Oaks, Goodwin, Reza, Scholz, or Made in: Japan China, or India for reals. Not interested in: Premier, Prism, Kite Factory, Catch The Wind, or that big box store heartbreaker left behind in your short term vacation rental (no offense…) ~ Unless it really is a hot mess or lipstick on a pig. ~ Broken? “Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he’s got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.” I will repair, exhibit, and fly it. ~ Will trade for food and good will.

Doggy fur clippers

Submitted By: Artwithmisskaren@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
My finances are tight on a fixed income so I need to take on the grooming of my doggo Grace. She’s from Guatemala and currently doesn’t have a worry in the world. I like to say she’s my bi-lingual dog that has selective hearing in both languages while we’re on the beach.
I’ve bought nail clippers so I’m keeping up on that. And I’ve sat on the beach a few times and hacked at her fur with house sizers. It doesn’t look pretty and her left behind fur for the birdies looks more like an animal massacre. So I think I’m ready to just try a pair of fur shears. If you have any kicking around that you no longer use I’d be grateful.

Helping hand wanted with new website advancement

Submitted By: jwmerc@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hi there – my new website is patiently waiting in the wings while I get products submitted for upload – their pictures etc. This is not my strong suit (getting into the right place – seamlessly add items) – and I need basically a “refresher course” (the original developer has left the country).
The artwork & mechanics are done – nothing needs be “built” – I just need to be coached in how to get behind the scene and get products loaded + get the credit card vendor implemented – so I can light it up. I will be using Big commerce – so if you are familiar with them it would be a plus.
Surely there is more specific language that could be used here – but again – computer programming is not my superpower..
Ideally 1-2 hours of time is what I might expect – and yes – I am prepared to pay for your time.

Telescope Needed this Sat for Planet line up

Submitted By: revolutionginger@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello BBQ land!

Do you own a cool telescope that will help us see the planets that are visible this Saturday?

There will be a community labyrinth and sauna happening this Saturday at sunset near the Y junction on Manzanita beach.

If you’re willing to bring down a telescope to help others check out the fainter planets that would be really cool!

Thank you!

Jeff (honey etc guy) will need feline-friend housing in JUNE!!!

Submitted By: jwmerc@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
So this 60-something year-old will be losing his housing at the end of June here in 2025. My needs are modest but let’s find a fit that’s good for everyone. At the moment I am comfortably handling rent in the $1200-$1400 range – adding in utilities I’m responsible for – and offsite storage on top of that so if there is an opportunity with lots of square footage the budget increases (you know how this works) – thus a smaller living space grows the need for off-site storage.
I want to have the address secured between June 1 and June 15th so I can have plenty of overlap time to get in and get the other location cleaned properly.
Nehalem? – yes it’s a goal. North to Astoria? sure – but please Bay City would ideally be the furthest south.
All ideas welcome – did I mention this needs to be feline friendly?

Rental needed

Submitted By: beachie47@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
My friend and gardening partner Nancy May is still looking for her next home. She is staying temporarily with a friend, but must move by February. A small, quiet pet-friendly house or apartment within commuting distance of Cannon Beach will be ideal. She’s a single woman in her seventies (with one cat) who values her privacy. Please let me know if you know of anything that might be suitable. Thank you so much!

ISO – Old School Sewing machine

Submitted By: Artwithmisskaren@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
A few years back my old Brother sewing machine
I had for over 30 years died. I shopped for a new machine but was intimidated by all the new fangled switches, buttons and inserts. I guess old habits die hard.
I really just need an old sewing machine that goes forward & backwards really.
I’m needing to make new pillow covers and curtains for my little house I just moved in.

I’m an art teacher so I can trade art lessons and I have a selection of high end upholstery fabric I can also trade that I won’t be using.

Just putting it out there. Hope everyone has a great holiday season and that this new year brings peace of mind and good health to everyone.

Looking for on call babysitter

Submitted By: kat4house@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hi I’m helping a single dad of 4 find a babysitter. He is on call for Pacific Seafood during strange hours — 430 PM – 3 AM. He is a full time RVer with his 4 little ones all under 9. He and his ex had a breakup a couple months ago and she split so he needs help with the babysitting.

You’ll have to negotiate with him the prices. I am helping him until January.

Sweet family and the dad is desperate to find a safe place for his kids. He is not opposed to the babysitter staying in their RV but it might be easier to babysit at your own residence. The kids sleep early so you’d only need to be fully present the first couple of hours of the shift.

Please email me then I’ll give you his #.

Thank you.
