YES INDEED! As I was watching the throngs of protestors marching to protest what they don’t understand, I was reminded of lemmings running towards and tumbling over a cliff in a mad scramble…..(there are views on you tube! ). – YEP these crowds reminded me of lemmings!
Thats the Democrats and others I guess -Instead of trying to figure out what is happening, what is next, and /or what went wrong – Its over the cliff for them…….
I did recently ask a Democratic group what they believed in and for a long time got no reply but finally someone did and they questioned my question because they did not have an answer to it! I mentioned to them that Democrats, according to CNN which is lefty news that the Democrats today only have a 29% voter approval rate! Didn’t you know? I asked. If I were a Democrat I would be working on the problem …. But I think they want to blame others – (I am the problem?) not sure! I am an Independent voter.
Anyway the problem is that many things are changing and it is scary, and people don’t like change. Also these persons have very little understanding of their government, or history, or math and they tend to be lead by others with fake and questionable motives who tell familiar story lines that these people find compelling and attractive. They use the word Democracy a lot – And I am quite positive by this time that these protesting persons do not know what Democracy means.
The US government is spending over $1 trillion annually on interest payments on the national debt, The interest on the national debt is 93.8 billion per month according to A I!!
Who is going to pay that? Thats just the interest. Our debt is bigger than our GDP.
And that is what made me realize that we are in deep doo doo. HENCE DOGE – ok?
It is just like a household where all of a sudden it comes to light – that the party that handles the finances has secretly re-mortgaged the house several times over to pay off charged debt and now there is no equity left in the home they have lived-in for 20 years! That happened to 2 friends of mine! Using a charge card without restraint is an addiction I believe, and it left a friend of mine on the verge of retirement with no home equity. Retired with only social security – is a bad place to be. And that is the USA Today – we have massive debt. Our GDP cannot handle our debt and pay bills at the same time, and it appears that the two biggest unfunded programs we have are social security and and medicaid !!!! We can’t just keep printing money – that leads to massive inflation. And our dollar becomes worthless! Under Biden the inflation rate went to 5.2 according to the GAO – the Government Accounting Office.
In closing, although there is much more to say – What is happening today is an attempt to keep America from defaulting on its debt – a mad scramble to find all that is considered fraud, waste and abuse, so to bring back financial health to our economy. President Trump has signed several contracts with chip makers and automobile mfgrs to create more jobs here. Tariffs, which I was taught in school, were meant to protect the American worker, and the middle class, which was mostly destroyed by NAFTA.
Bringing more jobs into our country will stabilize this countries economy. That is what we want and need!
Put on a lemming mask and protest if you want to, but your energy would be better spent in trying to solve some of the many massive problems in our country and here at home in Oregon.

Having listened often to Cheney, the letter sounds nothing like her style. It may have some good suggestions (certainly called out the DNC fund raising right away), but giving credit to Cheney is a disservice to her and hurts the letter’s credibility.

If you can’t hold formal hearings, hold public ones.
If Congress won’t act, let the country act.
This isn’t about optics — it’s about receipts.
Because at some point, these people will be held accountable.
And when that day comes, we’ll need every name, every signature, every illegal order, every act of silence—documented.
You’re not just preserving truth — you’re preparing evidence for prosecution.

This is not campaign season — this is an authoritarian purge.
Stop campaigning.
Act like this is the end of democracy, because it is.

Fighting this regime should be your marketing strategy.
And let’s be clear:
The reason the other side always seems three steps ahead is because they ARE.

We don’t need more slogans.

Make what’s happening in America a global scandal.
And stop relying on platforms that are actively suppressing truth.
Start leveraging Substack. Use Bluesky.
That’s where the resistance is migrating. That’s where censorship hasn’t caught up.
If the mainstream won’t carry the truth — outflank them.
Get creative. Go underground. Go global.
If our democracy is being dismantled in broad daylight, make sure the whole world sees it — and make sure we’re still able to say it.

Not everyone inside this regime is loyal.
Some are scared. Some want out.

This week we’ll plan to learn to crochet in a round as well as starting some crochet projects! The projects I have in mind will be included below with the needed materials, but please feel free to bring any pattern/idea and we can find where you should start.

2. Hats (in rows or in a round). Can be any weight if yarn from DK/3 to Bulky/5, you just need a hook that corresponds to that yarn weight (probably F/G for weight 3, H/I for weight 4, and J/K for weight 5).
3. Granny Squares. This can be any size of yarn, but as you will need multiple colors, try to keep your yarn all the same weight/material (ex. All acrylic worsted/weight 4). For the granny square pattern I have in mind, you will need at least 2 and up to 4 colors.
4. Rugs/bags. This can be any size yarn, but must be cotton or acrylic. For a thicker project, use 2 strands, T-shirt yarn (I can demonstrate how to make this), or even rope/Paracord. If using anything other than standard yarn, I would recommend a very large hook (about size Q). I
I will have a few balls/skeins of worsted/weight 4 acrylic yarn anyone can use if they need something to start with! Excited to see you there!

When I was growing up in El Salvador, there was a man who was not afraid to speak out. His name was Óscar Romero, archbishop of San Salvador. It seems to me that we need more Óscar Romeros today. We need everyone of good will to follow his lead and demand that the government respect human dignity.
In his last Sunday homily on the day before he was killed, Saint Óscar Romero made a special appeal to government agents: “It is time now for you to reclaim your conscience and to obey your conscience rather than the command to sin,” he said. “We want the government to understand well that the reforms are worth nothing if they are stained with so much blood. In the name of God, then, and in the name of this suffering people, whose laments rise up each day more tumultuously toward heaven, I beg you, I beseech you, I order you in the name of God: stop the repression!”
I urge government officers and support staff in the present situation to heed these words which echo through history. It is time now for you to reclaim your conscience. What you are doing is worth nothing if it is stained with unjust cruelty. That is not what America stands for. You too can and should speak out against this terror and infliction of suffering on people. You can refuse to be involved in oppression and these grievous assaults on human rights and dignity.
True, if you do, there may be adverse personal consequences. Saint Óscar certainly paid a price for speaking against the state of siege in his country. It might even mean leaving your job, but that is better than being complicit with evil, and it will lead to something even greater. As this holy man said in his last words before his martyrdom, “If we have imbued our work with a sense of great faith, love of God, and hope for humanity, then all our endeavors will lead to the splendid crown that is the sure reward for the work of sowing truth, justice, love, and goodness on earth.”

Someone wrote to me suggesting that I am racist because of my “Jamal” story.
For those interested (If you are not interested in this, don’t read it), a recap. I walked into an eye doctor apt. in Wokeland and the receptionist asked if I was Jamal. (I am very obviously white). I answered “Do I look like Jamal?” She replied “Well you never know these days.” I said nothing, but smiled at the other receptionist who was smiling and sorta laughing at her idiot co-worker. What I didn’t say was “Actually, you can know these days, as rationality and common sense are not time-sensitive.”
For that post above, a hate-mailer accused me of being racist.
I bet that hate-mailer couldn’t handle five-minutes at a black bar in NoPo! He’d be crawling in his honkey skin!

I then told her about the Huey P. Newton Gun Club. She is blind (which is why I was driving her) and said ‘you don’t want me shooting a gun.’

OK, enough snideness! The outbreak is still happening and looking at where the large majority of cases have occurred, there’s much to be learned. Gaines County, Texas is on the far west high plains of the state and mainly known for extracting fossil fuels from the Permian Basin and irrigation water from the Ogallala Aquifer. The county of 22,000 is 82% vaccinated (95% is ideal for measles) and is home to large congregations of Anabaptist Mennonites who, while not theologically opposed to vaccination, seem in this case to be the focus for the outbreak along with plenty of people who no longer trust vaccines of any type.
So folks who meet congregately on a regular basis should be especially wary of the possibility that this highly contagious and serious disease is spreading farther afield.
A search of recent news gets many results echoing claims made in this recent post to BBQ. However all of the sources cited in the search results are either obscure or social media (in other words, it’s gone viral). Certainly at least one, if not all, well known news sources would report on such an explosive story. Instead nothing, so I thought this post was worth a fact check, and I found one by “Tech ARP” with the following reporting. Make of it what you will. Here are relevant excerpts:
“Some people are claiming or suggesting that 7 states have filed criminal referrals against Anthony Fauci and other top officials for COVID crimes. Some even claim that those states are calling for, or even pursuing, criminal charges against Fauci and other officials!”
“Let me start by pointing out that the criminal referrals against Dr. Anthony Fauci, and other top officials involved in the US COVID-19 pandemic response, were not filed by any state, never mind 7 of them.
Instead, they appear to have been filed by the Vires Law Group, which appears to be a South Florida-based law firm that specialises in civil litigation.
Anyone can file a criminal complaint, or a criminal referral, with the police or any US district attorney. You don’t even have to be a lawyer, or law firm, to do that.”
“It appears that the Vires Law Group has filed multiple criminal referrals since at least 2023, but despite their prolific efforts, no attorney general or district attorney in the United States has ever filed criminal charges against Dr. Anthony Fauci, or as far as I can tell – anyone else on the list either.”
“On the other hand, a coalition of 17 state attorneys general led by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson say that they’re investigating Dr. Fauci’s role in the US government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, after President Biden gave him a blanket pardon.”
“Notably, those 17 state attorneys general still have not filed criminal charges against Dr. Fauci, as of 11 April 2025. That usually indicates they have not found “violations of state laws“, or they would have taken “appropriate action to ensure justice is served.“
In addition, this investigation by those state attorneys general appear to be limited to Dr. Fauci, and does not involve any of the other people mentioned in the criminal referrals by the Vires Law Group.”

• Tillamook County is one of the most underserved areas in Oregon in terms of dental services, and by providing local dental care the new Health Center will be a major upgrade for the north coast.
• A number of Oregon foundations, including the Roundhouse Foundation, The Ford Family Foundation, the Autzen Foundation and the M.J. Government funds have affected many local programs. A critical program in our area is the North Tillamook County Food Bank (NTCFB) located in Wheeler. We are asking you to donate what you can to this organization. The location of the NTCFB is 278 Rowe Street-which is across from the Nehalem Bay Health Center. The building is only open when food is distributed and that is at noon on Tuesdays.
