VERY RARE SHAMAN MADE MASTODON IVORY PENDANTS

Submitted By: tim4surf@yahoo.com – Click to email about this post
I purchased these magical Mastodon Ivory pendants over 40 years ago. They were made by a remarkable old Alaskan medicine man who learned the craft of macrame. Both are beautifully hand carved. The heart shaped (with bark like surface on one side) piece has Garnet, Carnelian, Jade and Jasper beads woven in. The mystical mask contains Citrine Quartz, Jade and Lapis Lazuli beads throughout. The macrame work is just astounding, made of very sturdy high grade cordage. The Mastodon Ivory is of a quality not seen today. These are more like jewelry than craft with the precious healing stones and ancient Ivory carvings. Both pieces are 18″ in circumference and signed. Notice the the small holes that were drilled to affix the cordage. You will not see pieces like this anywhere.

This kayak was purchased last year for $1600 and, due to emerging health issues, it is now beyond my capabillites. It is an innovative design that combines inflatable technology with rigid parts, so that it tracks like a hardshell kayak and is ocean-worthy, yet also collapses to be portable for travel. Asking $1200.00. Location is Manzanita. Please e-mail gretta.siegel@gmail.com if interested.
