North County Food Bank will be closed Tuesday, December 24 so volunteers can spend time with their families. We urge folks to come get food on Tuesday, December 17. We will also be open on New Year’s Eve, December 31.

The Little Free Pantries in Manzanita and Nehalem will be stocked if you need emergency food. You can also get food through Nehalem Bay Community Services. www.nehalembaycs.org

North County Food Bank distributes a full weeks worth of food, pet food, hygiene items, and clothing to our neighbors in need in Tillamook County. We are located at 278 Rowe St. in Wheeler, across from the Nehalem Bay Health Center and Pharmacy. Our regular hours are on Tuesdays from 12 pm to 3 pm.

Nehalem Bay Health Center and Pharmacy Update

For the week of: 12/16/2024

What to expect this week:
– First floor perimeter and interior wall framing.
– Second floor joist framing.
– Retaining wall footing at generator and transformer area to be formed and poured.

Major milestones on the project:
– Building structural steel has been installed.
– Carpentry crews mobilized to the site and delivered the lumber donated by Hampton Lumber.
– Excavation and subgrade prep at generator

About the new Health Center and Pharmacy:
– The new Health Center and Pharmacy project is a direct result of the five-year strategic plan the Health District adopted in 2019. That plan, now being updated, identified enhanced local health care as a top community priority.
– The new Health Center will triple the size of the current facility (the former Rinehart Clinic) and have space to accommodate specialty services, including dental and x-ray. 
– The new Health Center will have 15 exam and procedure rooms, a major upgrade from the existing facility.
– The new Health Center has been designed with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind and will include a solar array, an emergency generator and a variety of energy saving features.

Adventist Health Tillamook announces a call to artists of all ages on the Oregon coast for a non-juried art exhibition at North County Recreation District (NCRD), Feb. 1–28, 2025.

– No fees for creative submissions.
– Submit up to five entries — must be wall-ready.
– Art sales – If selling art pieces, 20% of sales go to NCRD for fitness scholarships and 80% back to the artist.

Save the date for art submissions!

Hi folks – the month is really scooting by – and I will only have one more chance before the holiday to DELIVER to home-or-office – this will be on TUESDAY December 17th – in the early afternoon hours. On board will be the three-variety raw honey “samplers” (see picture) which are $29 each – two for $55 or you can take FOUR for $100 on this trip only – they’re a convenient/delicious/awesome gift to hand off – or ship. I will also have quarts of the raw blackberry honey collected from the Blodgett area of the coast range – $29 each. Real maple syrup in GLASS package are $32 per quart – and the white “jug” style (BPA-free plastic) are $28 each. Holy Kakow! handmade chocolate sauce from Sisters are two-for-$15 – quite wholesome and could be a great ‘stocking stuffer’. About the artist: Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m an artist based in Tillamook, OR. I love working on creative projects of all kinds. When it comes to painting, I particularly enjoy the process of embellishing an existing surface – whether a building, wall, door or piece of furniture. I find that adding art to the spaces we inhabit and the objects we use every day can make us feel more at home, reinforce our sense of place, identity, and belonging, bring a smile to our faces, lift the spirits, and inspire us. Whatever art does for you, I would love to help you experience that more in your day-to-day life.

But what will it cost?
Typically projects will fall in the range of $15-$20/sqft, however the rate can depend on a number of factors, including design complexity, location, and scale; whether I need to use a ladder or scaffolding, and the extent of surface preparation required. I will determine the proposed rate after an initial consultation on your project.

– Stay Safe Without Running Water –

WaSH Classes scheduled for Winter & Spring
Emergency situations happen in our coastal region – power outages, flooding, storms, wildfires, and possibly an earthquake/tsunami. How will you obtain safe water for drinking, cooking, and washing and dispose of human waste during these times?
EVCNB offers a comprehensive class covering water, sanitation, and hygiene from which you’ll obtain the know-how to get your household prepared to properly manage your WaSH needs.

Registration for this 2.5-hr. class, held at the Nehalem Bay Fire station on Hwy 101, will be posted on the EVCNB website as these dates get closer on the calendar. Go to Events & Trainings. Look for the WaSH water drop logo.

This 2.5-hour class will be taught on the following dates:
