This is about states’ rights and responsibilities to hold elections. States, each using their own tested methods, already verify the identities of voters, and they double check to make sure election outcomes are fair (not to mention the legions of partisan lawyers watching like hawks). This is how it’s always been done because it was written into the Constitution to prevent a single king from controlling elections.

Tuesday is an important day in North Tillamook County as it is the day the North Tillamook County Food Bank is open. People of all ages depend on this Food Bank. With gas creeping up to $5 a gallon and no raises in pay in sight many people are making choices of buying gas to go to work or buying food. This is where the North Tillamook County Food Bank can help but they can’t do it alone. Your help is needed to keep the food bank open. I have a GE side-by side counter-depth fridge that keeps food cold and frozen properly, but the ice maker and water dispenser no longer work. It will be available April 16 or 17, depending on the delivery date of the new appliance. Offering for a sliding fee: $25 to a household that NEEDS it for a main fridge; $125 if it’s for a 2nd (garage) fridge. You will need strong people and a dolly to haul it.
Also soon to be available is a GE gas (LNG or propane) range with gas oven. Please pardon the crumbs in the picture – I was eating cookies while taking the photo. It is very clean, but well used. No serious scratches or dents, but a tiny bit of rust on the oven rack guides, and a corner of the burner is chipped – no effect on use. It can be yours for the same sliding scale – $25 to $125, based on need. It can be available sooner – I just need to have the gas line capped before it can be removed. Again, you haul it – there are two steps on the porch to maneuver.

In other words, with respect to the supremacists currently running Israel and their support network in the US (politicians like Ron Wyden and Donald Drumf and NGOs like the anti-First Amendment ADL), they claim they are right to do what they have done to Palestine, and are now doing to Iran, using the Jewish holocaust (as opposed to other holocausts such as the African slave trade that went on for two hundred years and was much larger is scope) as a smoke screen for the crimes they are committing, and if you criticize them for it, they start yelling “You are anti-Semitic!”.
I shouldn’t have to point out that there are Jewish supremacists just as there are white KKK supremacists, Afro-supremacists, Japanese supremacists, etc.

It is Monday of the NO KINGS3 WEEK. North County Resistance will be along Highway 101 in Manzanita this week on Saturday, March 28 from noon to 2 PM. We hope you and pretty much everyone you know will join us. This is a protest against the authoritarian policies pushed by President Trump. There will be protests in all 50 states and it is estimated 2,100 cities and towns will be involved. It is estimated that over 7 million people will be out protesting and that number is growing daily. North County Resistance is expecting well over 750 people to be protesting at the Manzanita location.
With this many people parking will be at a premium so we are asking those of you who can walk to the event to do so. PLEASE do not park at the businesses that are near this event. You may be towed and nobody wants that. When parking along Manzanita or Laneda Avenues be sure you are parked in the right direction-tickets for parking in the wrong direction might also be given. You may use the parking lot for the Manzanita City Hall. On Division Street by the Manzanita City Hall there several boulders you can park by in that area. You may NOT use the parking lot for the POLICE DEPARTMENT. There are a few parking spaces at the First Security Bank on Laneda Avenue in Manzanita you can use. If you have the time, go out a day or two before the event and scout out where you might be able to park. Get two or three spots under your belt in case your first choices are already taken.
For people to be able to see around the corner to go either north or south on Highway 101 from Manzanita Avenue we ask you not to park in these areas so the line of site is clear.
There will be crossing guards to help you safely cross the street by Manzanita Lumber and Big Wave and also Manzanita Avenue by the Happy Elephant. Please listen to these crossing guards. There will also be Safety Marshals with orange or yellow vests on. If you have any questions or concerns, please look for these people and have them address your concerns.
Again, for safety reasons we ask you to leave your dogs and llamas at home.
We are looking for people to carry NO KINGS signs, Register to Vote signs, and Stop Climate Change signs, or whatever you want for your sign. As this is a Peaceful Protest we ask your signs reflect this philosophy.
We look forward to you being with North County Resistance this coming Saturday.

This thing works but seems to go through a lot of glow plugs and hasn’t been very reliable. So, I’m replacing it. I have the manuals and cover for it if anyone wants it. Free is a good price.
It would be much better to have an open primary election and less costly for the state to have a primary election with ALL candidates for office on it – and so much more democratic to do so.
So here is an article about 2 petitions to open primary elections to all voters. I think this is a great idea and will produce a better government for Oregon (which we desperately need )! These petitions are submitted by former Democratic Governor Ted Kulongoski and Independent Andrew Kaza. (The independent Party now has as many members as both the Dem and Republican Party in Oregon)
For a better Oregon – read this article – and – look for the petitions when they are approved by the Oregon secretary of state.

Apparently according to ballotpedia a similar bill was already presented and rejected by the voters although I don’t remember any such thing on a ballot – and I always vote!

Supporters of an open, top-two primary system are closer to actualizing their goal following the July 15, 2014, certification of their initiated state statute. Every Oregon Voter Counts Petition Committee submitted 140,045 signatures to the secretary of state’s office on June 23, 2014.[1] Ultimately, the measure was certified for the November ballot with 91,716 valid signatures.[2]
The measure, if approved, would create a top-two system of general election voting where the primary ballot allows voters to choose one candidate from all candidates, regardless of political party. The top two candidates, regardless of political party, would then be voted upon in the general election.[3][4] Such primary systems are referred to as blanket primaries, top-two primaries or jungle primaries. California, Louisiana and Washington all have versions of a blanket primary. Despite its neighboring states’ use of the system, Oregonians overwhelmingly rejected a similar measure in 2008.
Maybe this was confused or connected with rank choice voting – I don’t know! But anyway if we could get this on the ballot it would be a good thing.
Oregon is not what it used to be – homelessness, crime, failing schools, businesses leaving, and Portlander leaving too! We need a change!
