Restorative Yoga – Fall Term Starts Tomorrow

Mondays at 10 AM at NCRD. It’s a great way to start the week!!

The Fall Term theme is TRUST. Trust in the body, trust in the breath, and trust in the process of deep rest.

Instructor: Liz Carroll, a certified & seasoned restorative yoga teacher and life coach.

Restorative yoga is a gentle form of yoga that focuses on deep relaxation and stress reduction. No prior experience is necessary. Just bring a willingness to learn and arrive 10 minutes early so you can set up your props.

Restorative Yoga can be beneficial for:
Physical Health: Improving digestion and mobility, reducing pain and inflammation, relieving muscle tension, and strengthening the immune system.

Mental Health: Calming the mind and reducing anxiety, improving mood and reducing stress, promoting relaxation and sleep, and enhancing focus and concentration.

Emotional Well-being: Cultivating self-awareness and compassion, fostering a sense of inner peace and quiet, and releasing emotional blockages and tension.

URGENT LOST Malmute German Sheppard

Yesterday , Saturday my family lost our dog near access 22. We were able to follow her North to the neighborhood on University, just before she headed into the thick , going toward nehalem road. We haven’t seen her since then around 2:00pm 9/27.

She looks like a wolf. She is a malamute husky mix and very sweet, not dangerous. She is very timid with people and may be reluctant to come near if you try to approach her quickly. If you make yourself seem small and kind she may come closer. She is playful outside and nervous inside.

If anyone has seen her whereabouts, please reach out and inform me.

as of Sat 27 the brown dog has been seen by cameras confused curling up by a door and crying
We called Tillamook K9 Rescue Dispatch but the Pooch has to be contained for them to come over
this could be a garage or laundry room kennel or tied up
the community is putting water out and food

Looks like it’s gonna be quite the eventful and entertaining winter driving my taxi in Wokeland! Woot Woot!



Actually, this looks to me like a Drumf-marketing nothing-burger.

The Portland ICE (The agency used to be called INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service), but Dubya/Cheney/CIA changed the name to the scary/sexy ICE!!!!!!) detention facility is small and has been around and underutilized or a long time. It is on MaCadam Ave, next to a Tesla dealership. You can’t make this up. I drove by in the cab a few days ago, nothing at all was going on, and my Portland passenger didn’t even know that is where the facility was located.

So yeah, nothing-burger from Drumf.

If ICE (shivers………..!!!!!!!!) does a bunch of provocative stuff with Drumf’s CIA, maybe ‘protesters’ will show up again.

If they do, I promise I will drive my taxi down there and wave and smile to the ICE agents AND the protestors, BLASTING the song linked below!!!!!!! Because if you’re not having fun, what’s the point???

And just like Charlie Kirk who was realizing we are all one, and just like Malcom who was realizing that we are all one, I will attempt to bridge the divide!

Found this sweet girl wandering lost & confused around Necarney City Road between the Shell station & the cemetery. I was able to get her in my car & took her to my vet to check her microchip. My Vet staff have been trying to contact the number on the microchip; however, no one has responded to their messages. If anyone knows who she belongs to, please contact Cheryl Lund. Thank you.

Free speech is fundamental to who we are as a people and a nation. So as administrator of the BBQ, I won’t be blocking any poster, unless they consistently submit posts that contain hate speech of any kind, personal attacks or foul language. I do monitor individual opinion pieces and very occasionally refuse to post, or send back to the poster, items that include any of the above.

It’s not only free speech that is fundamental. Other things I believe are vital are
respect the right of others to think differently than I do
being open to new ideas
allowing nuance and discourse for possible understanding and change
taking deep breaths when my emotions about what others are saying and or doing become big so I don’t just react
not giving up my stance of love
not believing everything I think

Our country is extremely polarized right now and violence against others who are different for whatever reason has sadly become acceptable to some. Somehow, we have to change that dynamic. I am not sure how to do that. I do believe aspiring to the ideas above could help.

I certainly don’t agree with every post on the bbq. And I just ignore them (after checking for no-nos listed above). Even though some of the bbq posts are extreme in my opinion and the responses back and forth don’t seem to lead to understanding, allowing people to express themselves on the bbq is still a fundamental right.

Perhaps we all could step away from our staunch beliefs occasionally and look around to what else is out there.

Free faux wood blind

Free white faux wood blind. Has 2” slats and is 96 3/4 “ wide and 46 “ tall. Never used. It arrived from the company with a dent in the top metal portion, the trim shown in the other pic attaches magnetically and hides the dent, but the company replaced it for us and did not want it back. Habitat and Goodwill will not take blinds and it is a shame for this to go to the landfill. Yours for the taking in Manzanita.
