For $200 are an almost new pair of (still have the box) Korkers River Ops fishing boots. I purchased these thinking to upgrade my old Korkers. However, these are too heavy for my old legs. These have only been worn only two days on the river.
Size 14 $200

Lost walking/fighting stick on Ocean road Manzanita

Submitted By: ekerr1980@yahoo.com – Click to email about this post
Left my wooden walking stick (like a shorter fighting stick) on the north end of Ocean in Manzanita on Friday afternoon 12/1. On the ocean side of the road, laying on the ground where people park. Was a gift from a friend many years ago and is worn shiny in the middle from thousands of miles of walking.

Please email if you’ve found it and picked it up. Of if someone has stashed it somewhere to be held for its owner. It was gone by the next afternoon (Saturday 12/2). I can give identifying features from there if needed.

Has sentimental value and has been all over the country with us and I’m gutted I took off without it.

GENERAL INTEREST

Interview with Pepe Escobar, ( not the drug lord):
For those of you who don’t know, Pepe has the respect of journalists and political analysts around the world for his depth knowledge and history regarding the grand chess board. Despite his accent, this wide angle discussion presents probably the clearest possible picture of where and why the players are doing what we see in real time and since events are moving at breakneck speed, someone like Pepe is worth listening to for an hour. And if one is not familiar with the various acronyms, like BRICS, BRI, ( the silk road), SHANGHAI CORP., IMEC, or the Ben Gurion Canal, etc, take some notes, because this is an honest, unfiltered view.

Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher, and even Santa Claus himself at Higbee’s Department Store. The consistent response: “You’ll shoot your eye out!”
All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family’s temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys’ experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie’s father winning a lamp shaped like a woman’s leg in a net stocking; Ralphie’s fantasy scenarios and more.

Gingerbread House Competition

Submitted By: pattyrinehart@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
I am most lonely when it comes to hearing from people about building gingerbread houses for the North County Recreation District’s Winter Event. My face was bright red when I told the Friends of NCRD Committee I have only two entrants…So, help me out here people! OK, let’s open it up to gingerbread cookies too. Just remember we can’t eat them! I know of one business on Laneda who is going to do a replication of their building. If we get more people doing this, we could have whole towns built. Are you listening Nehalem and Wheeler?

OK, the event-NCRD’s Holiday Social, is going to be at NCRD on December 16th, a Saturday, from 11-1. There will be childcare, delicious food, and some information about the new pool being built. And the nice thing is that it is all FREE!

Come and support this community treasure! See below for recipe for gingerbread. For a poster for the event please contact me.

Text only, please include name of blanket
(971) 701-7766
Located in Rockaway Beach

A blanket with a story to tell, based on a work by artist Preston Singletary. The image represents Raven, a shape shifter and trickster. In the story, the old chief who lived at the head of the Nass River kept his precious treasures—the sun, the moon and the stars—in beautifully carved boxes. Raven steals the boxes and makes his escape into the night sky, carrying the sun in his mouth. The sun is a metaphor for enlightenment or knowledge. The ombred background shades meet at the center in vibrant colors of sun and light.

A portion of the proceeds from this blanket will be donated to the American Indian College Fund to help support tribal colleges.
