Wasted $4

Because several sang the praises of Epoch Times, I decided to risk $4 and see for myself. I regret it now, the $4 would have been far better spent on ice cream. I would have enjoyed the ice cream.
Example 1, Headline 9,000 lost ballots. Alarming! How can we trust our elections?
Well, dig into the bottom of the story, turns out ballots were lost for a week and were found because tally of ballots received did not match number of votes cast. What the story doesn’t tell is that 308,000 votes were cast in the election (think having $3 in dimes and losing one). Good journalism?? No!
Example 2. Feature story on Ron Johnson, noble crusading Senator investigating every government miss-step he can find. Any mention of him being Putin-puppet who is convinced Ukraine aid should be withheld because Ukraine will lose. I see that as giving up on Democracy too soon.
Epoch Times says it’s deeply opposed to CCP (Chinese Communist Party), but I think it’s a fake. I think Epoch Times is really working for the CCP and the goal is to weaken America. It’s chock-full of false and misleading stories carefully crafted to undermine America unity and patriotism. Unity and patriotism are the foundation of our country’s might. Anything that undermines them serves the CCP.
It doesn’t hurt that they’re making tons of money in the process.
But what do I know, I could be wrong. I do know I wish I had bought the ice cream instead.

Herbal Workshop & Spa- Learn to Make Salve and Tinctures!

Submitted By: revolutionginger@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hi there BBQ Land!

Just wanted to let you know there’s gonna be a super cool herbal class here at North Fork 53 in a few weeks.

I’ve been wanting to do more hands on workshops for a while now but the tea company kept me too busy to really get it going.

So this spring I asked my friend Julie at Laughing Rabbit Farm up near Astoria if she wanted to come down and share some of her herbal salve and tincture making skills.

Lucky for you, I’ve got a big jar of red poplar bud oil that’s been soaking in my pantry since last year.

So Julies gonna show us how to make the ultimate herbal first aid skin balm (aka the Balm of Gilead).

It’s a beeswax salve that smells delicious- like vanilla amber, and heals sunburn, bug bites, scrapes-even arthritis pain.

She’s also bringing my all time favorite spring herb- nettles!

If you have allergies, anemia or your body just needs a deep green boost after a long winter- nettles are the best.

She’ll show us how to create a nettle tincture from fresh and dried nettles and even how to make nettle pesto.

After the workshop, if you want to really treat your self- you can add on an herbal wood fired sauna and cold plunge where you’ll get a chance to play with a selection of Julie’s herbal skin oils and a clay mask for a nice spring body detox.

If you’ve been wanting learn about herbs but don’t know where to start- this is your chance! Getting hands on with plant medicine is the best way to learn how to make your own.

In just a few hours you’ll learn to make the Balm of Gilead and a Nettle Tincture- plus you’ll get lots of recipes to keep on playing with at home.

Only 12 spots are open so grab yours before they’re gone.

The men’s section is looking very thin at the Clothing Bank at North County Food Bank in Wheeler. Do you have some extra clothes to spare? We especially welcome work clothes, such as flannel shirts, sweatshirts, and cotton t-shirts. Gently used work boots and practical shoes are needed as well.

We also welcome your donations of children’s clothing, toys, books, and shoes. Women’s clothing and shoes too!

The Clothing Bank is really popular and we’ve been serving 150 or more people per month, so our stock has been hit pretty hard. If you’re doing a spring cleanout, please think of us!

We can take donations Tuesdays from 12 – 3 pm at the Food Bank at 278 Rowe St. in Wheeler–across from Nehalem Bay Clinic and Pharmacy. If you can’t donate then, please email us at northtillamookcountyfoodbank@gmail.com and we will arrange a pickup.

Save The Date: The Green Reaper April 27, 2:00-4:00 NCRD

Dear Conscious Aging & Community Connections Friends,
At our inaugural meeting last October, the # 1 topic you requested was Green Burial. The team heard you, and so we are presenting an expert on the topic. Join us with your questions, concerns, and experiences.

The Green Reaper to Appear in Nehalem!
Everything you want to know about green burial

Elizabeth Fournier, aka The Green Reaper, will speak at the North Coast Recreation District (NCRD), 36155 9th Street, Nehalem. The presentation will be held in the Gallery Saturday, April 27 from 2:00-4:00; $10 cash at the door.

Every year conventional funerals bury millions of tons of wood, concrete, and metals, as well as millions of gallons of carcinogenic embalming fluid. There is a more environmentally conscious and affordable way, and Elizabeth Fournier, affectionately dubbed the “Green Reaper,” walks you through it. She provides comprehensive and compassionate guidance, covering everything from green burial planning and home funeral basics to legal guidelines and outside-the-box options, such as burials at sea. Fournier points the way to green burial practices that consider both the environmental well-being of the planet and the economic well-being of loved ones.

Elizabeth is the author of The Green Burial Guidebook: Everything You Need to Plan an Affordable, Environmentally Friendly Burial. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the Green Burial Council, and the owner and operator of Cornerstone Funeral Services in Boring, Oregon.

Elizabeth will have copies of her books available for purchase.

For more information on Elizabeth, visit her website: thegreenreaper.org

This event is presented by Conscious Aging and Community Connections, Manzanita.

clumps of meadowsweet, ready to plant

Submitted By: vivi@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Hello BBQers:
On this sunny Spring day, I divided my meadowsweet shrub. I planted 3 clumps back into my garden, and put 8 clumps on the street in front of my house for you to take and plant into your garden.
What is meadowsweet? Follow this link to read about this handsome, fragrant and medicinally useful plant: strictlymedicinalseeds.com/product/meadowsweet-spirea-ulmaria-potted-plant-organic/
If you are interested in plants, particularly medicinal ones, Strictly Medicinal is a great source of seeds and starts. This is where I bought the seeds for my meadowsweet, probably 12 years ago. And this is the first time I’ve divided my shrub.
In the summer I harvest the meadowsweet flowers and leaves, dry them, and then enjoy them as tea, especially if I have a hint of a headache.
As you can see in the photo, the new leaves are just coming up. These clumps of plants are on the street now, against the rock wall, just north of the mailboxes in front of my house at 35600 13th in Nehalem.
It’s perfect weather for gardening!

ELLEN WHYTE SINGS JAZZ AND BLUES AT NCRD ON SATURDAY

Submitted By: moranmem@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
THE ELLEN WHYTE SHOW
Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee and three-time Grammy Award nominated singer, songwriter and guitarist, Ellen Whyte, is well-known throughout the Pacific Northwest. She is one of only a few performers who can sing blues, pop and jazz with the passion, skill and authenticity that keeps fans coming back for more.

Ellen is known for her astonishing vocals as she gracefully moves among genres from blues to jazz. She’ll be joined by bassist Gene Houck, and singer and keyboardist Jean-Pierre Garau — each having their own impressive résumés.

This trio performs in a ‘songwriters-in-the-round’ style, taking turns presenting a variety of R&B, jazz and rock influenced covers and original music — seasonal selections, too — that showcases their musicianship, unique vocals and rich harmonies. This will be their first appearance at NCRD!

Get ready for some “Heart Rockin’ Music” with Ellen Whyte and her band!
Saturday, March 30th, 2024, 7 pm at the NCRD Performing Arts Center in Nehalem.
Tickets are available at tickettomato.com ellenwhyte.com www.ncrd.org

Just want to make sure you have done all the REAL research about Vaccine Deaths and Injuries over the last 100 or so years before you really tell people to go get VACCINATED!
The VAERS REPORT Is a good place to start, keep in mind that only 1% actually gets reported to the CDC aka Vears report!

P. S
The Polio vaccine maimed and killed many people first! Prove me wrong please!!
Do YOU know how many?
Just my 2 cents for today!
Have a great day!
