Tonight is Open Music Jam- starts at 6 PM, bring your instruments, your voice, yourself and let’s have some fun!!
Store will be closed tomorrow, Saturday May 4th – I will be at the Master Gardener’s Plant Sale at the Tillamook Fairgrounds, from 9-1, with my best products- local photography note cards, crystals, journals, jewelry, candles, suncatchers, windchimes/spinners and more! Please stop by and say hello, while you’re shopping for some awesome plants!
And now for some real talk- there are no community events scheduled for this month other than tonight’s open music jam.
I am very passionate about offering community events like this for free or very low cost donations, and for this reason, I added a store to my already busy healing practice- store sales help pay for these events, and keep them open and available to ALL! However, this winter, like most of the businesses along the coast, there just wasn’t enough sales, or support, and now I am making some hard decisions moving forward….
I am also burned out. I was glad to be able to offer the studio for grief support after the passing of my friend Lee, and also my time for the many weeks of his memorial planning, but it was a financial hardship, as well as an emotional one, and honestly, I haven’t had a chance to catch my breath yet, or process my own grief. So, I am regrouping, re-imagining, restoring, and hoping to be back in June with a full schedule again, but I need your help to do it!
Store Hours are Thursday-Sunday 11-4PM- closed May 4th, 12-16th. Free hot tea, and hugs, always available
****Please shop local, if you like a store or service in your community, support them! It’s our local community that keeps us going, it’s not all tourists!***
I LOVE YOU! And I am so BLESSED to be a part of your community! -CK
Hope to see you soon!

The Lower Nehalem Community Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Akdedian as Interim Executive Director. From walks on Neahkahnie Mountain as a toddler, to catching a first crab in the sparkling waters of Nehalem Bay, and now witnessing her children grow amongst the majesty of the temperate rainforest—Emily’s connection to the Nehalem region brought her to the Trust in 2022 when she joined us as Education and Outreach Coordinator.
Emily’s professional career has spanned non-profit education and environmental work across three continents where she has been involved in organizational development, project management, program design and implementation, as well as equity work in collaboration with communities in rural areas of Costa Rica and remote Pacific Islands. She has engaged and managed volunteers on our public lands as the North Coast Stewardship Coordinator for Trailkeepers of Oregon, and during her time with the Trust has worked to connect our North Oregon Coast residents, visitors, and partners to place-based learning opportunities on our lands and in our region. She has implemented various public relations strategies to build awareness and promote engagement in LNCT’s conservation work.
Emily holds an M.A. in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development, an M.A. in International Affairs, and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology. Her knack for combining knowledge, wit, kindness, and valuing partnerships, diversity, and inclusion as central to a healthy environment and community, have proven to be tremendous strengths for her work at LNCT and for the network that she continues to build.
Emily will oversee day-to-day operations and provide staff supervision and project management oversight toward mission related obligations. While working with the Board during this time of transition, she will help lead strategic and fiscal year planning. Please join us in welcoming Emily to this new role and leadership in our continued journey to conserve land and nurture conservation values in partnership with an engaged community.
Emily can be reached at (503) 368-3203 or emilyakdedian@nehalemtrust.org. Or, you can reach me at (503) 329-1011 or debbie@nehalemtrust.org.

EVCNB Volunteers and those who want to join our network are invited to attend one of three informational get-togethers offered on the dates below.
Pre-register at the link shown above or use the QR code in the ad below.

Purchase any reflexology gift card through this Sunday (see my previous posts in For Sale) and you’ll receive a small flower arrangement with your session! You can still choose a free bath fizzy or shower melts, but a few people asked for flowers, so I thought others may want to know they can have this too.
They sure do bring joy into our homes 🙂 Flowers are used in feng shui to refresh and refine energies and make offerings… Beautiful blessings…
Gift baskets with natural hand and foot care, tea and treats available as add-ons as well as a larger flower arrangement or bouquet (from Neahkahnie Blooms.) Contact me at the number below to order your gift basket and book appointments for May 20th-31st.
Thank you.

I am looking for someone to please help me find out why my lawn mower wont start.
I took it up to the barn and put it away nicely. Had a newer battery. Tried to start it and it would not. I bought a new battery, a new fuse, and the wiring was done about 2 years ago. So what gives?? Ugh… it’s always worked before.
Any ideas? Thank you for your help.
(Wheeler) – The Nehalem Bay Health District this week submitted to Tillamook County’s Community Development department design and permitting documents for the new Nehalem Bay Health Center and Pharmacy in Wheeler.
The submittal represents a major milestone in the project and anticipates a permit review schedule by the county that will allow groundbreaking in mid-July 2024.
The new Health Center will replace the existing Nehalem Bay Health Center, housed in a building that was constructed in the 1980’s that has no space for expansion or for the development of new health care services. The new Health Center will be located in a prominent location on U.S. Highway 101 across Hospital Road from the Wheeler City Hall. The new facility will have 15 exam and treatment rooms, a large pharmacy, a dental suite, dedicated space for behavioral health services and a large community meeting room.
Health District president Marc C. Johnson said the board is proud that a significant community project has been developed by a talented all-woman team of architects and designers from Scott Edwards Architects, as well as a diverse consultant team that met the Health District’s goal of teaming with multiple COBID certified Oregon firms.
(COBID firms are certified as minority-owned, women-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned businesses, and emerging small businesses).
“This team has worked diligently with the health care and administrative staff of the Nehalem Bay Health Center to plan an efficient, modern facility that will serve our community far into the future,” Johnson said.
The Health District board has also placed a premium on working with firms with substantial health care and coastal design and construction experience. The rest of the District’s team includes The Klosh Group, serving as the District’s owner’s representative and Bremik Construction the construction manager/general contractor.
Here is a timeline of key activities leading to construction of the new

2 Across follows the unexpected encounter between two strangers on an early morning San Francisco commuter train. They’re alone in the car, each is married, both are doing the New York Times crossword. She’s an organized, sensible psychologist and a crossword pro. He’s a free-spirited, unemployed ad exec who always quits. They are two opposites in an enclosed space, challenging each other’s values but also being swayed and intrigued by them. They each have serious life problems that the other helps solve. As the commute unfolds, the audience is drawn into a whirlwind of witty banter and unexpected twists.
2 Across is directed by Markus Brown and features Margo McClellan as She (Janet) and Ben Van Osdol as He (Josh).
The production crew includes Sondra Gomez (costumer), Mick Alderman (lighting design), Sam Dinkowiz (sound and video design), Mick Alderman and Markus Brown (set builders), Juan Lira (set painter) and Nancy McCarthy (sound and light operator).
