Nehalem Bay Community Services is having a Rummage Sale to be held at Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church.

The entire weekend May 25, 26, 27, will be filled with great stuff that you need. All proceeds go to support the community outreach efforts of Nehalem Bay Community Services.

The Food Pantry, CHILD Back To School, Munch a Lunch and Nehalem Senior Lunches are the programs that help seniors, kids and others in the community who are low on food.

All items are available for a donation of whatever amount you feel is right. Be generous and get great bargains.

If you have items that you’d like to donate, bring them to the church Thursday afternoon or anytime on Friday.

Join Rick Estrin and the Nightcats on June 23rd at NCRD for a 3pm show in support of their new album release, “The Hits Keep Coming”.
Opening for the Nightcats will be members of the NKN school choir.

Rick Estrin & The Nightcats have performed at festivals and concert stages from San Francisco to Chicago to New York, and everywhere in between, and have toured the United Kingdom, Norway, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, Israel and even Estonia and Russia. The band has twice won the coveted Blues Music Award for Band Of The Year. Description: Every year, conventional funerals bury millions of tons of wood, concrete, and metals, as well as millions of gallons of carcinogenic embalming fluid. There is a more environmentally conscious and affordable way, and Elizabeth Fournier, affectionately dubbed the “Green Reaper,” walks you through it. She provides comprehensive and compassionate guidance, covering everything from green burial planning and home funeral basics to legal guidelines and outside-the-box options, such as burials at sea. Fournier points the way to green burial practices that consider both the environmental well-being of the planet and the economic well-being of loved ones.
Bio: Elizabeth Fournier began her career in 1990 in Portland, where she was employed as the live-in nightkeeper, sleeping in a trailer in a Portland, Oregon, cemetery. Thirty-three years later, she is a one-woman funeral service in the rural town of Boring, Oregon. Elizabeth owns and operates Cornerstone Funeral Services where she is affectionately known as “The Green Reaper” for her green burial advocacy. She is also the Manager of Historic Columbian Cemetery, Portland’s newest green burial choice, and author of The Green Burial Guidebook: Everything You Need to Plan an Affordable, Environmentally Friendly Burial. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Global Green Burial Alliance, gave a TEDx talk called “Going Green: The Last Act of Environmental Volunteerism,” and People Magazine honored her work by writing, “Elizabeth Fournier is doing her part to change the way Americans bury their dead.”
Note: Ms. Fournier offered this presentation in Nehalem in April to a standing-room-only audience. Consistent with the Collective’s mission, the same offering will be available virtually for those unable to attend in person.
